This is body medium PLUS if you know what I mean. Stumbled upon this gem tasting cabs in Sonoma last June. Was very fortuitous to find the tasting room just off the town square. An old non-vintage bottling.
As for the age I would guess this to be somewhere late 60's to early 70's (as the bottle is embossed 4/5 quart which I believe was discontinued for the metric 750ml in 1979) and also has the "classic" plastic/rubber foil found on a lot of oldies from that time.

Being a bit of a history buff when it comes to CA's wine industry I'm very humbled when opening these pieces of history.
Amazingly this held up to 24+ hours of aeration without loosing any life...and actually got better!!

Excellent Amarone for the price ... $17 at Trader Joe's. Dark fruit flavors with full bodied mouthfeel. It's even better decanted 40 min prior to drinking ... softer flavors with additional notes appearing. Can be a bit harsh otherwise. — 9 years ago
