Smooth and pleasant red fruit. Great $15 value. — 6 months ago
While I have great respect and appreciation for wines like these I simply don’t have the palate for them.
Iodine, beef blood, smoky BBQ. I’m sure this is lights out with a dry aged ribeye but a 2oz. pour is enough for me. Very reminiscent of the 1969 Colares I had a few months back. Properly stored. — 9 months ago

Had the privilege of being the first non Quinta Do Vale Meao persons to have a try of this wine. Probably one of the best Portuguese dry reds still with lots of ageing potential. Appreciated that they combine tradition and technology. Complex and elegant despite its youth. — 7 months ago
From Laithwaites. Almost perfect, perhaps just a smidge too sweet but the quality pushes through so that doesn't matter too much. — 10 months ago

At the wedding - Douro — 5 years ago
"this is a wine made from Portugal grapes, and poor, stony soils and in a continental climate characterized by wide temperature ranges. Composed of regional great varieties - predominantly the aragonez, sarah, and Torigo National, it reveals the typical character of its origin. It is intense with rich aromas, complex flavors and is an excellent partner to good food," — 6 months ago
Unfiltered watermelon pink rose. Chewy, sweet candy on the nose with a hint of floral rose. Bright acidity with a saltiness to it. Grippy with long mouthfeel. Really dimensional and delicious! — 7 months ago
2016 vintage. Dirk Niepoort's answer to Burgundy and it actually has a Pinot Noir like colour and mouthfeel. This is a very unusual Douro from very old vines. Delicate nose with sour cherries , pomegranate and flowers. It is all about finesse and subtlety. Very long. Delicious and expensive (80 euros), but if you see the prices of Portuguese high end wines these days it almost seems a bargain. — a year ago
