Kind of like if Grenache was grown in Bordeaux. About to go great with some steaks. Thanks @garagiste! — 11 years ago
Busted loose the 2008 to assess early drinking potential. A sacrifice of one bottle for five. Honestly, there is something about 2008 Brunellos that are less austere/classic than 2006, but do not possess that tiny bit of burn from the heat of 2007. So, drink earlier (now) or wait for another 4-7 years. 2008s are drinkers and keepers. — 12 years ago
Very funky - perfumed Rhone like nose, but dry tannic body like a Nebbiolo - one of the most interesting wines I've had in years — 12 years ago

The Grapes of Immortality as Salvador Dali painted them -- this wine made by Dali's family friends from Penedes is not DO as it's made from Cab Sauv and Petite Syrah varieties. It is though a rich and well balanced fruity wine that is beginning to open up tertiary animal and mushroom aromas. Black currants and cherries lead, it is subtly oaked with spice and some lingering black pepper. Finish, tannins and acidity are medium though. My fruit lead style of red I like, lacks some complexity — 11 years ago
