Torre A Cenaia

Torre d'Orti

Rosso Veronese IGT

Not a heavy full body wine, but has a rounded flavor and purple grape color verses red. — 5 years ago

Torre Rosazza

Colli Orientali del Friuli Pinot Bianco 2015

Just tasting it for first time on day two but very impressed. You can almost smell the creaminess along with the floral intensity. Palate is rich but also has zippy acid in a very white Burgundy kind of way. — 6 years ago

Torre Oria

Método Tradicional Brut Cava Catalunya Macabeo

A really good Cava, especially when you consider the retail price ($12.99). Straw, golden apple, rosemary notes. Same on the palate, rich enough to mention it, huge finish, minerally, pretty, small, bubbles. I like it a lot, ya know, considering everything? — 7 years ago

Torre la Moreira Rías Baixas Albariño 2015

Fantastic! Light and insanely crisp. The acid is about as vibrant as Albariño gets. Green apple and minerals. And the bottle was only 13€ in a restaurant. Can't beat it. — 8 years ago

Well done but a little heavy on the oak or at least it's not well integrated. — 8 years ago

Torre Quarto

Bottaccia Puglia Uva di Troia 2011

An amazing wine for under $20 a bottle. Agree with Ian Cauble whose states "Lush full bodied palate". Made to go with food. Decanted for 45 minutes. — 9 years ago

Quinta da Boavista

Torre de Tavares Dão Encruzado 2008

Hazy yellow tinged gold color with aromatic, appealing quince, pear, orange marmalade, and wet stone aromas with a appealing oxidized note. On the palate it's well structured, full-bodied, and very fresh, yet lushly textured with fine grained well integrated tannins like an orange wine with tart quince, pear, orange and vanilla flavors, with a hint of baked nectarine and a long mineral driven finish. 12.5% alcohol — 9 years ago

Torre Quarto

Quarto Ducale Rosso di Cerignola Puglia 2007

Blind, I would have said this was a modern BDX. A touch brambly and dark with lifting acidity. What a surprise. A true delight with a porcini dusted porterhouse. Yum! — 9 years ago

Torre dei Beati

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Rosé

It's hard to find a Ro-say to compete with this one! Plump, vibrant and concentrated. — 11 years ago

La Sabbiona

Rosso Della Torre Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore

BlackBerry. Tannic. Fully flavored with solid 14% alcohol content. Strong, long lasting aroma and flavor. A vibrant, and satisfying Sangiovese. Would stand up well to spicy foods, or heavily flavored meat. — 6 years ago

Torre de Oña

Torre dei Beati

Mazzomurello Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

Velvety, rich yet still refreasing. Creamy notes of dill and mint compliment a soft palate of blackurrant laden fruit, along with some savory notes. — 7 years ago

Torre d'Orti

Amarone Della Valpolicella Corvina Blend

Very raisiny indeed, with heaps of pepper and warm spice and a hot alcoholic burn. A bit of black cherry and chocolate with a woody, hot finish. Doesn't seem quite in balance to me, or as elegant as other Amarones I've had. The 17% alcohol really seems to be making this one hot and boozy. Won't be buying again at $56.00. — 9 years ago

Torre Raone

Lucanto Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Casale Della Ioria

Torre del Piano Cesanese del Piglio Superiore Riserva

Cesanese del Piglio DOCG 2011, Riserva Superiore, 15.5%. Bottle tasted in January 2015.
Color: dark, clean, with an orange tinge.
Nose: vinous, ethereal, very balsamic, spicy, green, rich, deep and a little toasted wood.
Taste: really very good, intense snd rich, fine and elegant tannins, pure licorice. Long persistence.

Amazing Brunello '09. Silky smooth, brick color showing. Great mineral-driven nose with black olives. Tastes incredible, pairs excellently with tomato-based dishes. My wife said it was a "highway by which the flavors of the meal were transported into her." I'll have to have her write my stuff more often. — 9 years ago
