Felton Road

Block 5 Pinot Noir 2002

First time trying an old Felton Road and a Block 5 courtesy of Can. Forest floor, some black fruits. Great concentration with depth and intensity of flavour. Good length but never felt over-blown or heavy. Shows why this wine is an icon. 94 points — 11 years ago

Joseph Phelps Vineyards

Insignia Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1974

This was a vertical of 38 vintages to celebrate Joseph Phelps Insignia 40th anniversary! The 74' and 77' were the wines that came on top from the 70's vintage. — 12 years ago

West Block Pinot Noir 2011

Some #delectable #PinotNoir from the #RussianRiver valley. Strawberry, red plum and red currant, cinnamon on the nose and palate. Definitely on the juicier side of pinot noir. — 10 years ago

Hudson Vineyard North Block Syrah 2011

Very nice cool climate Syrah, my fave. Nice fruit, but no impression of sweet. Nice tannin finish. — 11 years ago

Tenuta San Guido

Bolgheri Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 1998

Probably in the top 5 wines ever drank, amazing that it's a cab, not as robust as a typical cab. Was almost like a mixture of a Bordeaux and a Barolo.
Fantastic experience, probably worth the €250 price tag. But for slightly less quality, I can find a $100 Barolo anywhere...
