Not a “Bordeaux guy” but that may be because I don’t/can’t get my hands on the real stuff. This was pretty revelatory. More floral and delicate and sensuous than I could’ve imagined for a broad category our server called “cigar-box.” — 6 years ago

Amazing wine......drinking with Rob K who just got promoted (again) to Full Prof (yes the spelling of Full is correct).....at this rate he will be Dean of the Faculty by August. Wine is a wild mixture of petroleum, chocolate, toffee, blueberrys.......everlasting finish......for a 2002 this thing is hitting its prime right now — 8 years ago
Very clean and well balanced cab, but lacks a little complexity near the end, great wine aroma, and sweet in the finish, beautiful rich red color — 9 years ago
I love Stags Leap and this one is crazy reasonable and so good. Cherry flavored, soft on pallet. Beautiful wine. — 10 years ago
Primary blackberry compote and cedar flavors. Balanced out at this point in its life. Really good, reminds me of Frank Family Vineyards with more acidity. — 11 years ago
This is a cross between smoked blackberry pie, barbecue brisket with Sweet Baby Ray's sauce, and Lay's barbecue potato chips. The front of this wine is very opulent, very rounded and full bodied mouthfeel. Lots of smoked blackberry pie with graham cracker crust immediately in the front. The middle is where it goes a little darker. Smoky, ashy, meaty. Still finishes with some astringency. I think the consensus is that this one might be a slightly over the hill, and I would probably agree with that. However, really enjoyable wine that really would have gone well with an herbed pork or tenderloin. — 5 years ago

Not too sweet, nice slightly dry finish. — 5 years ago
In Dublin hotel dinner brought by Hsing. Well made new world Aussie Shiraz with fruity well balanced nose of red fruits and cherry. Silky smooth texture for this style and long finish. — 6 years ago
I feel that this is probably the best Pinot Noir producer out of the finger lakes although the competition is finally a good one. The nose has a wonderful aroma of currant a plum with undertones of spice including nutmeg and mulling spices. The palate is gorgeously light and elegant but still somewhat juicy at the same time. Flavors of plum, sour cherry and baking spice along with wonderfully balance acidity. The finish is soft and elegant with juicy fruit notes of lingering acidity. Wow... a great pairing for roasted pork. — 7 years ago
That's what Cab Sav is supposed to taste like. Fruits will ease with age. — 8 years ago

One of my favorite reistlings! Smooth and not too sweet, when I open a bottle I tend to drink the whole bottle! — 4 years ago
