An elegant structured Sicilian wine from Faro (extreme NE tip of the island). Kind of like Nebbiolo (with its tar, rose, and bright clear color) meets Sangiovese (with its rich cherry, leather/tobacco, and assertive acidity). A food wine for sure, as Narellos always are. This one has a wee bit of Nocera as well. A fine producer...they make a rosato as well from the same blend - reputed to be the best on the island. — 8 years ago
Very fragrant nose with strong berry notes. Sweet but full bodied mouthful. Acid at the tip of my tongue. Great for $9.9! — 8 years ago
Nice. Pulled it out to share with the wife and daughter over a nice tri-tip. The Mrs. & I loved it. Peppery and smooth with a bit of tannin left. Should be great for a few more years. — 8 years ago
Tasty...loads of deep caramel with smoky notes...just the tip of my 2005 stash!!!😀 — 9 years ago
Aramaic with a lingering taste on the tip of the tongue. — 9 years ago
Exciting warm nose of pencil tip or something. Juicy yet velvety on the palate. After a while in the glass, I thought there was a slight alc burn. — 10 years ago
First wine of the day and it's light and fruity with the tannins and hints of grapefruit that lad on the tip of your tongue. A very light and refreshing wine. — 11 years ago
I have been liking the Chenin grape for a number of years, but mostly from the Loire Valley of France particularly the area around Vouvray. I thought I would venture to the southern tip of Africa to try the Chenin Blanc of this region. The South African Chenin has the typical straw color and the nose is of good fruit, honeydew melon, lemon, and mineral. At first taste there is a good sharp acidity and citrus on the tongue. The flavors last a good long time on the palate. This wine is well balanced with wet rocks and a metallic taste on the backend. This is a good serviceable wine. — 12 years ago
Light and crisp with an almost bubbly sensation on the tip of the tongue. — 7 years ago
Delicious, smooth great representative of Haut-Médoc. Went great with Burgundy wine tri tip. — 8 years ago
Vibrancy and depth with each tip of the glass. A racy freshmaker. Petrol, lemon rind and wet gravel. Very Coche-y at a fraction of the price. Credit to @romo for turning me on to this and @Max Kogod for purveying it with aplomb. — 8 years ago
Smells a bit earthy like currants and almond. Super dark and opaque. Super smooth tip to finish, with a savory hint of fig, almond, and dull (in a good way) cherry. — 8 years ago
Take a bite into this full Pinot. Makes the back of your mouth water when it hits the tip of your tongue as if you're biting into a sweet tart. Surprisingly smooth finish. Bouncy in flavor and tranquil in mouth feel — 9 years ago
Pineapple, a tinge of tangerine with creamy vanilla on the nose. A nice crispi was on the tip of the tongue, very soft finish! — 10 years ago
Tip top quality. Dark and dirty tones on the nose lead to an eyeopening showcase of depth of flavor carried with such grace and softness. Pure artistry and craftmanship. Homerun, slamdunk, hole in one. — 10 years ago
Jammy leather nose maybe with a nutmeg. Very fruit forward. Missing the tip of the tongue hitting mid palate with a slight tannic feel and finishing soft. — 12 years ago

Refreshing, light, slightly sweet smell. Pleasantly tingly on the tip of tongue, very complex, flavors spread out on tongue, floral and fruity. Medium ish tannins. Rounded, clean finish. So good! Had at Smith and wolleksny with samir — 8 years ago
Very drinkable, goes well with food and on its own. Not much of a smell, just alcohol-y. Smooth on the tip, tingly at back of throat. Small tannins, very refreshing, kind of sweet, but balanced by zestiness. Had with zucchini grilled cheese with egg. Leaves warm feeling in back of throat. — 8 years ago
Wonderful example of classic, balanced California cab. Just say no to high alcohol fruit bombs. Intense yet delicate and profound. Served with perfectly BBQ tri tip. Yum! — 8 years ago
Big style Chardonnay from the southern tip of Africa, excellent. — 8 years ago
Spice, vanilla, rum. These are the flavor of the nose of this fine wine. It has a sweet tip followed by a delightful dryness with plenty of tannins and hints of a pear? Very good stuff — 9 years ago
Lovely passion fruit pomegranate bouquet. Smooth. Tannins on the tip of the tongue that do a salsa dance the rest of the way back to a bolder, smooth finish. — 10 years ago
Nice orange acidity on the tip of the tongue. — 11 years ago

Penultimate bottle! With perennial thanks to D Beckwith for the tip. Owing to its age, it shows best from 30-90 minutes on opening. Thereafter it gets sorta wide without further revelations or complexity, but there’s a kind of mineral sweet spot with cool Japanese umami notes and I’m consistently impressed by the showing. — 7 years ago
