Sitting on the lanai in Grand Cayman sipping the wine 2012 one of the more reasonable wines for sale here. Going down very easy lightly peppered with plum and blueberry fruit taste possibly coffee. The color is dark and the aroma is as it tastes with pepper and dark fruit. — 8 years ago

Clos des Fous Cauquenina 2012
Like every wine I’ve tasted from Clos des Fous, balance and freshness are there. Flavorful yet deep, it drinks pretty well alone or with barbecue. Another good product from them!

Pairing it up with some Moroccan lamb with tomato and eggplant. Spicy, black fruits on the palate with some olive and bitter herbal accents. Should be a nice foil for the tagine. — 9 years ago

Tiene un color tinto marrón precioso. En nariz se nota la madera pero esta bien camuflado con la fruta. Es un vino fuerte, de grandes sabores al principio y explosión amarga que dura poquito. — 11 years ago

What a surprise this was after the flight of hardhitters. Nice finesse and overall balance. Well made Rioja for 6€!? How is it possible? — 6 years ago
2011 vintage pairing a roasted torquey sweet potatoes. Finally this vintage starts loosing its oak pigments and fruits start cheering. — 7 years ago
One of my favorite reds from Douro in north Portugal. Deep red violet color with beautiful tears on the glass. Forest berries and deep caramel aromas with an excellent dry finish. Pairs with red meats, game and very strong cheeses. — 8 years ago

You can smell the high alcohol content in this one. Fruity, bright, and spicy in the nose. Wow, intense with coffee, chocolate, spice, and dark fruit. Good tannins, and thick going down. Lingering finish. — 5 years ago
