Mendoza Malbec 2024

This wine has a medium-dark color. Its nose is as fruity as you like. Big, ripe, red berries are featured, along with tobacco, spice, and a bit of earthy funk. The tannins are firm and the acidity is fresh. The palate brings in cherry, black cherry, and blackcurrant for a pairing that will be wonderful with meat dishes. I slow-cooked short ribs with mine, while enjoying a glass or two in my easy chair. — 18 days ago

Yes, this wine needs meat. Short rib sounds perfect!

This needed lots of time to open up, but wonderful afterwards. First Slovenian wine for me. — 3 years ago

Fio Mosel Riesling 2014

Tasted blind. Beeswax, green apple, tilia and honey. After some time it becomes magnificent, bouquet enriches by honeysuckle and amber with some musk notes. Energetic, crisp and well balanced with high acidity. Lovely long aftertaste that evolves over time. It was the most interesting wine of the evening, no wonder it was named favourite by most of the people. — 4 years ago

Domaine de la Taille aux Loups

Monopole Clos de Mosny Montlouis Sur Loire Chenin Blanc 2015

Expressive and sophisticated bouquet with benzene notes, Jerez, nuts, tilia honey, slightly rotten mandarins. With time the nose evolves, calms down and you get green tea with jasmine as a bonus. Multilayered wine, with long jerez-like evolving taste, flavours of green almond and yellow fruits with benzene. Great wine, wonderful QPR, shame it's not available anymore.

Mendoza Bonarda 2022

Grabbed this with steaks from the grocery store. I am unapologetic; I believe Mendoza is the best place you can go if you've got $12 in your pocket.

I would love to see more Bonarda and less Malbec brought in to the U.S. Bonarda may be relatively simple, but it goes with so many types of food.

@Tom Casagrande I agree 100%. I didn't catch it until this moment, but Delectable detected Bonarda, while this bottle is Malbec. I drink more Bonarda than Malbec, but my corner store is pretty limited. Interesting story, isn't it? 😂

Domaine de la Taille aux Loups

Montlouis-sur-Loire Clos Michet Chenin Blanc 2017

Elegant and sophisticated wine. Yellow fruits, nuts, quince jam, benzene notes and tilia with some bakery hints. High electric acidity, well balanced, has lots of power and potential. It's almost ready to kick me in the face. Long aftertaste with flavours of tilia honey and green apricot. Young yet delicious!
