Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1983

Enjoyed 83 LLC a lot - perfectly mature, great aromatics and fruit was there to stand up to structure. — 10 years ago

Château Léoville Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1988

Still got it. A fantastic old Bordeaux with a classic nose and great flavor profile. A bit short on the finish. Tannins even still there for a few more years of life left. A great bottle. — 11 years ago

Tignanello Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2012

This was showy and delicious. There were beautiful mineral notes that showed after an hour in the decanter. — 10 years ago

Château Mouton Rothschild

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

There are times when I am completely surprised by a wine. Low fill, destroyed capsule but the best bottle of Mouton that I have had pre 1982. This wine was singing. — 11 years ago

1990: Corked, unfortunately. My mom had the best line, "It sure tastes better than it smells!" I recall what it was like on release, hard candy sweetness with a surprisingly light framework, particularly compared to both the '88 & '89 on release, and the crazy depth of the'90 Ch. Filholt Creme de tete, which was massively concentrated. This bottle still had oomph, yet wasn't all there. — 11 years ago

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

A bit of oxidation, but otherwise, just fine. Fruit still there. 1970, 45 year old wine for our 45th Anniversary. — 11 years ago
