On this Saturday night I have opened the 2014 Réserve De La Comtesse. 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot the second wine from Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de la Lalande.
On the nose there is sumptuous dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, black currant, stewed plums, chocolate, a bit of meatiness and tar.
On the palate the dark fruit continues with blackberry, black cherry, black currant, licorice, cedar, smoky oak, mocha and an earthiness.
This wine has a velvety mouth feel an is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + fine rounded tannin that leads to a delicious lingering finish. Stay safe and continued enjoyable weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 7 years ago
I was not blessed with the greatest birth vintage for Bordeaux (1991), but luckily my dear friend fared better (1989). Red currant, raspberry coulis, cedar, and graphite - the wine is still so fleshy, round and clean, nowhere near as tertiary as I'd expected going into the evening. It's structured, but also rather open knit after a quick decant. I hope to taste this Latour again in the coming years - as I believe it has many stories yet to tell. A special wine shared with even better company - there are worse ways to spend a Tuesday night. — 7 years ago

Just a Saturday night dinner with the Vianna family! Unbelievable wine and such a treat- 1991 vintage! Just incredible. There was a gevry after this but the bottle bit the tiles I'm afraid! — 11 years ago
Best wine of the night. I would buy for special occasion at $30. — 12 years ago
Smooth, delicious, Saturday night kick starter! — 6 years ago
It’s common to hear wine drinkers use the colloquialisms like “a good Tuesday night bottle” or “an excellent everyday drinker.” Well, this is a spectacular Saturday night wine; deserved of the spotlight and worthy of much anticipation.
Blue and black fruit compete for who’s more pure, while the savory creosote and cedar intertwine, and the acid and tannin do their dance. There’s timing and choreography... it’s wine in HD and Surround Sound. Extraordinary. — 7 years ago
Wine of the night. This wine had EXCELLENT fruit, and showed NO VISIBLE SIGNS of decline. Great powerful blackberry. I was guessing 01 Stag's Leap or Rutherford. Turns out it was Caymus SS 01, but I was second guessing myself on the year because it was a very purple color into the decanter and showing well. The wine had great vanilla on the front, blackberry on the front, and a more youthful middle and finish with some herb. This wine has 10 years left in it no doubt. Whoever cut this one off at 2017 has no idea. This one literally showed no signs of decline whatsoever. Drink by date 2007 - 2030. — 8 years ago
2009 Vintage just wonderful from Valpolicella. Aroma of blackberries and raisins, with a taste of mixed berries, cinnamon, and a hint of pepper on the pallet. It's Saturday night!! — 8 years ago
For that extra special date night or big moment in your life, this red is always a winner. — 10 years ago

Saturday night in treat! — 12 years ago
Special wine for a special night (anniversary) this wine is everything it’s made out to be. Sweet pure fruit nose, perfume in the glass, sweet fruit flavors mineral driven, with the acid, fruit and tannin in harmony. Very smooth, just want to sip it all night long. Has plenty of time left, so much for the 07 CdP naysayers. — 7 years ago
Full, savory wine, cravable, rich berries, great mouthfeel, silky tannins, subtle vanilla, roasted plum, tobacco...paired great with bitter dark chocolate following bucatini with roasted tomato marinara and braised meatballs on the lakefront at Burton...a great Saturday night — 8 years ago
Cold Saturday night in NYC -- break out a Barolo. This one is young but great. The nose is earth and funk. The berries are distant but there. It opens up so well across the palate as it gulps air itself. This small production wine is still crushed the old fashioned way. Wait 20 years and this one will be soaring. — 8 years ago
Great wine for sipping in front of the tv and a pizza! Perfect Saturday night in! 👌 — 9 years ago
