Such a grateful recipient of the generosity of my host here.. Hadn't had this in a few years, but I'd say after revisiting last night, it remains the finest California wine I've had. This bottle showed a bit soft right out of the gate, but it became incredibly expanded and powerful with air - the fruit sweetened up and the herbal notes were amazingly intense and pungent. Texturally like thick velvet. A legend for a reason. Hard to say how much life left, but definitely not going anywhere for a while - solid as a rock in the glass for 2 hours. #amazing — 10 years ago
