Lights out. Knock out. Thought this might be past its prime, but the first whiff raised an eyebrow and the first sip made me howl like Ric Flair. Stunning and right at its apogee. The best Northern California Syrah I’ve ever tasted. Decadent blackberry and boysenberry, with an array of meat from coppa to bacon, and seasoned to the hilt with pepper. Clove, leather, and lavender, with savory minerality that is killer. — 7 years ago

Good QPR. Won't win any awards for complexity, but it's got a nice strawberry nose, medium/full body, and a unique citrusy finish. Nice acid so I'm guessing it will hang out for a bit. Bought three, will be interesting to see how it progresses over the years. I'd buy it again. — 9 years ago
So this is not the most eloquent of wines, certainly not old aged, non taninned up to the hilt, nor biodynamic, no natural yeasts, not unoaked or holding a massive depth... but by golly, I loved this wine in that it has the spoooooooon full o'sugar kind of Julie Andrews ingredient! It was described as being really 'strong', yet I didn't find that at all. It is simply a really good happy tenner! It made me content, I had it with garlic marinated soft rose lamb chops, I drank it all in a gluttonous luxury and was humming to myself! — 11 years ago
This wine plays the outlaw image to the hilt. Lodi Cab faces off in a dusty street against Napa Cab, the fastest gun in town. They both shoot straight, but in different directions. Three Finger Jack has a nose of rustic black fruit, tar, forest floor, with only a hint of graphite. The palate leans in a more elegant direction, but still stands its ground as an “outsider.” It's a delightful drink, with plenty of pairing power and the tannic structure to prove it. — 6 years ago
Elegant - nice but a bit pricey at $55 retail — 8 years ago
Cold climate nebbiolo. A truly exciting wine. Soil driven to the hilt. Raw meat. — 8 years ago
Almost orange in hue! It's like there's some maceration going on. Honey to the hilt. Complex and lovely. — 10 years ago
I’ve had two cases of this in the past year - seem to grab a bottle every other trip to the cellar. It never fails to please. — 7 years ago
Superb wine surprise from special dinner guests. They know our pallet. Everyone will enjoy this. It’s a treat. — 7 years ago
Absolutely love this wine, juicy and natural to the hilt. — 8 years ago
Passionfruit, brine, grapefruit, acid to the hilt. Best Albariño I've had. — 10 years ago

This chardonnay is a gastronomic wine and will pair very well with chicken, pork and fish. I drank it with Sous Vide prepared salmon with lemon risotto and it was excellent and made the wine smoother. The complex flavors in the wine like lemon and custard are very intense and the the acid, fruit and mineral are very well balanced. A bone dry chardonnay and probably not everyones cup of tea. — 5 years ago
