i am obsessed with sub-alpine nebbiolo (known as chiavenasca up here in Valtellina). 2010 is perfection, soft and enticing with dried roses and cherries, wild mushrooms, and ample, feathery tannins. — 11 years ago
Solid and stoic. Stony. But feathery — 11 years ago
So fresh and so clean clean. Clay soils, old river bed. Very rustic minerality and brambly fruit on nose. A savory palette, feathery touch, with a fine tannic presence that suggests a long live. Easy drinking now and a porch pounder. — 10 years ago
2010 is an incredible value. truth is the acid isn't totally integrated yet, but it's still gorgeous: heady aromatics of kirsch, red flowers and baking spice also show on palate, accented by chalky minerality. fine, feathery tannin and shimmering (if overbearing) acidity complete the picture. in 2+ years this will be a masterpiece. — 11 years ago
Aromatic, green and yellow fruit, creamy and elegant nose, mineral and lemon curd nose. Palate is light, feathery, and balanced with great acid. Like great qba. Unfortunately, only 40 cases made. Get it quick — 11 years ago
This wine had both intensity and a feathery lightness-two intermingled qualities that make Savennieres such a singular and unique wine. — 10 years ago
Splendid. Rich, warm, feathery Pinot with bright berry notes nestled in musky yellow straw. Though a robust 13.5% alcohol, there is no burn whatsoever in this excellent buy from the Russian River Valley. I'd boat with these two bears any day. — 11 years ago
