2012 vintage. Great Pinot. On par with The Elder 2013 vintage. — 9 years ago
Full. Dark cherry. Plenty of tannins. Barnyard. Elegant. Dark berry finish. — 9 years ago
Elder flower and minerality balanced beautiful high acidity — 10 years ago
Revisiting the 2010 after a long absence. It is now a fully mature wine, showing perfect structure and balance with all the characteristics of a great chardonnay and the elegance of Pinot Gris. — 10 years ago
Aptly named elder statesmen of Australian fortifieds. Savoury, complex salted caramel, almost buttery. Lovely stuff. — 11 years ago
It might not be Pliny the Younger but I didn't have to wait 6 hours in the rain. This is a reasonable facsimile if Pliny the Elder. — 11 years ago
The only beer out East that satisfied out strong hoppy California IPA palates. Reminiscent of Pliny the Elder from Russian River Brewery and Double Tap from Berryessa Brewing. — 12 years ago
Made from younger trees. I prefer the more expensive version with the elder trees though. This one was about $16-$17, so $8 cheaper from Arlequin. — 13 years ago
One of the best double IPA. Only this IPA can be compared to Pliny the Elder. — 10 years ago
This wine offers the generosity of a quiet benefactor and the restraint of an elder statesman. If I am not careful, I might fall in love with Zinfandel all over again! — 10 years ago
2011 Vintage. Very buttery notes as well as notes of grapefruit and elder — 10 years ago
Still think Pliny the Elder is a better option. Heady is a bit more dank & when poured into a glass it's much more cloudy than Pliny. — 11 years ago
Dark ruby, almost purple in colour, lots of fine sediment. The wine offered a complex nose of elder, black currant, cherry, blackberry, chocolate, spices, clove, liquorice, some leather, some tobacco and a charred wood component. On the ripe palate the wine showed elder, black currant, cherry, some blackberry, coffee, chocolate, spices, cinnamon, liquorice and some tobacco, paired with lively medium-plus acidity, medium-plus tannin, notable heat from the alcohol (15.2% ABV) and very good length. The full-bodied wine had good complexity, with well-handled oak, but the alcohol was out of balanced. Inferior to the tight, dense, concentrated, powerful 2007. 91 — 11 years ago
2004. The color and flavor of butterscotch! Really nice, acids remain to keep it fresh in the mouth. A charming elder offering. — 12 years ago
Spectacular, fresh notes of pineapple, beeswax, elder flowers, intense balsamic, citrus, custard pie, rich texture and a powerful finish. — 12 years ago
Monte del Fra CA del Magro Bianco di Custoza is a single vineyard and offers many positive attributes: Still alive and kicking this 2013 vintage shows complex richness and weight in the palate but still manage to retain acidity and freshness. The elder flower and acacia notes are incredibly expressive. — 8 years ago
There is a certain unique character with Mt Edelstone only repeated in it's illustrious elder sibling Hill of Grace. Undefined but silky is part of it. Notes of roasted coffee bean. Some pungency like H2S but not. The highlight is the silky supple tannins. A beautiful wine one could never tire of. 2004 vintage. From 90 year old ungrafted vines. — 9 years ago
Elder flower meets sour beer, chalky — 9 years ago
2012 exceptional mineralogy but sweeter than one would expect from a grape known for dry whites. Good expression of Savoy terroir with subtle fruit notes of peach underlying elder flowers. — 10 years ago
Juicy and smooth, hints of vanilla and elder berry — 10 years ago
Just enough sour (almost cider esque) from wine barrel aging. Very complex with funky, straw like nuances. A contemplative beer brewed in Salt Lake City by Epic and aged accordingly with a collaboration from Crooked Stave in Fort Collins. — 11 years ago
Early tasting of 2012 PN - watch this space in Oct 14! — 12 years ago
My favorite summer wine! Bright fresh squeezed lemon acid and wet river stone minerals duke it out for a dry finish with white nectarines and elder flowers — 12 years ago

Dark purple and dark berries on the nose. Medium heavy with a velvety texture. Soft tannins and elder berries. — 8 years ago
