Nice soft mousse body, yellow peach, tropical melons, pineapple, some lemon meringue, lime zest, slightly bitter apple cider, whipped cream, hard chalkiness, alluvial limestone, saline, sea fossils, bread crust, yeastiness, yellow florals, racey acidity, nicely balanced & structured with a finish that lasts 90 seconds.

Made from 50 to 100 year old vines and matured for 18 months in small and large oak vessels, of which 20% are new. Medium-ruby, the 2020 Terre Nerre Calderara Sottana is introduced by a hauntingly fragrant scent of red and black cherries, wild blackberries, Mediterranean herbs and crushed granite rock. The medium to full-bodied palate is marked by a firm tannic structure, nervy tension and wonderful fruit complexity, closing with an elegant, persistent finish. Drink now until 2040. — 2 years ago

2012 in Nov '24....KL grab from Cali days. Wild spice, herbal aromatics. 15%alc was well behaved. Rdl burg stem but the AP gave it more mid palate weight. Lovely. Btl 1 on pizza night — 8 months ago

The best low alc red wine out there — 5 years ago
Rich and creamy. Briny salinity, wild herbs, barnyard funk, clay, and yet with undertones of ripe tropical fruits. Moderate plus acidity and body. A unique Friuli Sauvignon Blanc. — 7 years ago
Luminous straw color. Intense, perfumed nose of apple, pear and lemon verbena, with a hint of tropical fruit emerging from the background. Then rich and suave with very good juicy cut to the pomaceous orchard fruit flavors. Much richer and denser than the average Italian Pinot Grigio. Finishes long and pure. Well done. We actually quite liked this, but were really confused about why this “dry white wine” came out red 🤷🏼♀️ — 5 years ago
Sorrel, raspberry, blackberry, brown sugar, slight lavender smell, color is dark purple not clear, taste is acidic, jammy, with a good tannin base hidden by sugars, the acid mixes well with the jam and greats a woody metallic fruity finish — 6 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of blend of 60% Carricante, 25% Catarratto, 10% Grecanico and 5% Minnella, aged in French oak for 10 months. Pale lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits adding honeysuckle blossom. On the palate flavors of apple, apricot and lemon citrus with creamy vanilla wrapped in generous acidity, long finish ending with wet stone minerality. Nice! — 7 months ago
