1982 Bruno Giacosa Serralunga d'Alba Riserva Barolo. Second red at post-museum lunch at Il P. Drank this alongside the '82 Giacosa Brunello. This was much more well rounded with a longer finish. More favored of the two wines hands down — 10 years ago

2022 Etna Rosso santo spirito: light dark soil, very loose and sandy. lighter cherry and fruitier nose, on the palate, cherry, heavy minerals. Strong tannins. Very popular wine. Very deep vines. — 5 months ago
Quite deep ruby garnet core with garnet rim . Aromatic and quite deeply spicy on the nose with liquorice , dried spices , red cherry , red plum , rose . On the palate this is quite intense and tannic, red cherry , red plum , saline with smoky , tobacco , liquorice hints . Firm tannins with fresh acidity , sweet spice and ripe red fruit . Good length , this still is pretty young and needs more time . Better in another 5-10 years and will last well a further 10-15 — 7 months ago
Nice soft mousse body, yellow peach, tropical melons, pineapple, some lemon meringue, lime zest, slightly bitter apple cider, whipped cream, hard chalkiness, alluvial limestone, saline, sea fossils, bread crust, yeastiness, yellow florals, racey acidity, nicely balanced & structured with a finish that lasts 90 seconds.
Needs a few more years in bottle. — 2 years ago

We actually quite liked this, but were really confused about why this “dry white wine” came out red 🤷🏼♀️ — 6 years ago
Was served chilled, and it was interesting to see how the flavor developed. A bit funky, in a good way. — 7 years ago

Nose: blackberry flowers. Intense.
Palate: slightly tart blackberry fruit. Clean. Bright. A very well made simple wine. Grippy.
Long finish. — 9 months ago
Made from 50 to 100 year old vines and matured for 18 months in small and large oak vessels, of which 20% are new. Medium-ruby, the 2020 Terre Nerre Calderara Sottana is introduced by a hauntingly fragrant scent of red and black cherries, wild blackberries, Mediterranean herbs and crushed granite rock. The medium to full-bodied palate is marked by a firm tannic structure, nervy tension and wonderful fruit complexity, closing with an elegant, persistent finish. Drink now until 2040. — 3 years ago
