Nice soft mousse body, yellow peach, tropical melons, pineapple, some lemon meringue, lime zest, slightly bitter apple cider, whipped cream, hard chalkiness, alluvial limestone, saline, sea fossils, bread crust, yeastiness, yellow florals, racey acidity, nicely balanced & structured with a finish that lasts 90 seconds.

Made from 50 to 100 year old vines and matured for 18 months in small and large oak vessels, of which 20% are new. Medium-ruby, the 2020 Terre Nerre Calderara Sottana is introduced by a hauntingly fragrant scent of red and black cherries, wild blackberries, Mediterranean herbs and crushed granite rock. Wow. Love this Sardinian. The front is big and salty. My favorite with big flavored food. I have not decided on the end yet. This went down with an awesome grilled pork loin seasoned in prunes and Dijon mustard. Side was a very flavorful split pea and onion mash. — 10 years ago

Blend of blend of 60% Carricante, 25% Catarratto, 10% Grecanico and 5% Minnella, aged in French oak for 10 months. Pale lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits adding honeysuckle blossom. On the palate flavors of apple, apricot and lemon citrus with creamy vanilla wrapped in generous acidity, long finish ending with wet stone minerality. Nice! — 10 months ago

Opened about 30 minutes prior to dinner but no decant. Served slightly chilled. The 2016 “Blanche” pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. Developing with notes of ripe stone fruit, tropical fruit, nutmeg, white pepper, minerals and cotton candy. On the palate, the wine is dry with lower acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is a wine of impeccable texture to match the king crab legs with dinner. Drink now through 2031. — 10 months ago
