Part pride - it's a race against friends to see who is truly on top of his/her game.Next up Daou 2016. Once again it lives up to its billing. A lot of rich blackberry fruit, mixed with some accents of plum, followed by a lot of road tar and hints of chocolate. Rich with a lot of depth. Amazing now, but patience will be rewarded. This is a classic food wine: earthy, tannic, subtle fruit with spice rack notes and blackberry flavors at its core. The medium finish is chocolate and tobacco. Young.
