So much peat and smoke. Also more subtle grassy notes and earthy sweetness. Super light-bodied. A great Islay scotch. — 8 years ago

The standard expression is very good, but the barrel aged version is out of this world amazing. I was only able to get my hands on one can so I won't be able to asses how it ages, but even young it is exceptional. — 8 years ago
This is still a pretty young wine at ten years in. We opened this and decanters for a few hours and it still displays a lot of youth. The big fruit flavored come out with a little swirling. Enjoy, but be patient if you can. — 9 years ago
Love this wine and what Michael Zardo is doing over at Ten Acre/Bella. Exceptional bottle that shows a true Cali PN. Full bouquet of lilac, violets, caramel and musk. Beautiful nose. Sip shows spice, smoke, black fruits, black tea with subtle tones of mole bitters. That same spice returns for a lingering finish flashing its soft round tannins one more time. — 9 years ago
Oh so yum!!! Very complex point Gris — 10 years ago
Nose has similar elements to 07: black cherry, smokey white pepper, licorice. Palate has balanced acid, smooth texture, fruity finish. Great tannins, will last another ten years if cellared well. I ❤️ Paloma! — 12 years ago
I’m not a Chardonnay person but I loved this one! Less oaky. My favorite Chardonnay so far. — 7 years ago

Floral with great red berries and a bit of earth tones on the finish. A nice find. Worth seeking out — 9 years ago
Finally tasted what beaucastel can do with some age, the finish was about as long as I've experienced, no tasting note but it's in my top ten ever. -1988 — 10 years ago
Sweet red! — 11 years ago
Another great vintage of this underrated NZ single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. Loads of citrus (primarily grapefruit) and herbaceous notes. Light bodied with Bracing acidity. Crisp and refreshing. Consistent from year to year. — 7 years ago
Light body pleasant Pinot from Willamette Valley — 7 years ago
Ripe, almost jammy red cherry. High extraction, and generous use of new oak. — 8 years ago
Smooth and peppery. Very nice. — 9 years ago
Still super young, very fruit forward but heading towards being a balanced wine. Open in ten years. — 9 years ago
Great Pinot noir from the Russian river valley — 9 years ago
This was Rockstar good and could age another ten years I think — 10 years ago

The 2017 ‘Poet’s Leap’ Riesling shows once again why this wine is truly one of the premier Riesling bottling in North America. This opens with beautiful orange blossom and melon with wet stone character on the nose. The palate is full of freshness., yielding a beautiful sense of minerality. Even more impressive is the near minute long finish. Beautiful in its youth, this will cellar well over the next seven to ten years. Drink 2019-2027- 93
