2015 Ancient Vine Teldeschi Vineyard Zinfandel
How this beautiful wine got only 90pts? I don't know.
This is one I want around all the time.
Violets on the nose and dark fruits on taste. Everything you would want in a pie*
Did I mention this is on the list at the F.L.? Shhh

Teldeschi Vineyard, with some of the oldest vines planted from 1913 to 1919, located in heart of Dry Creek Valley AVA in Sonoma County. Deep Ruby with subtle aromas of black fruits, citrus and spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blueberry with citrus, black pepper and cacao notes. Lively acidity, tannins with a rustic edge, long finish, full-bodied wine ending with fruit and herb spice character. Should develop nicely over next 5+ years. Nice! Tasting Sample! — 6 years ago
From a vineyard tended by the zinfamous Teldeschi family. This one is a little more Zin heavy than some of the other heritage blends, but the usual mixed black suspects are also included. It's still burly at this very young stage and needs extended hours of decanting. Black fruit, smokey, bramble, and spice but still tight with racy acidity. This will improve greatly with age, give them at least 5 more yrs. — 8 years ago
Good blush wine. Not acidic. Rather sweet. — 10 years ago
I sampled the 2012 petite Sarah Dark purple and very satisfying. I enjoy their Cab as well.

Herbal and pleasantly tannic. Aged ripe fruit. — 6 years ago
Popped and poured; served at cellar temp (55°F). Drank alongside the 2017 Teldeschi Vineyard. Both were excellent and yet quite different from one another, really expressing their unique terroir. Very primary right now, the Oakley Road was red fruited: think raspberries, pomegranate, and spices. An extremely pretty version of Zinfandel with sexy aromatics. Lighter in weight than the Teldeschi but just as serious. Long finish. I couldn’t help but wonder how this would evolve if I had another bottle to lay down. I just love how zippy it was. — 6 years ago

Still rich. Tons of smoke & black licorice - almost too much for other fruit notes. Still strong & chewy, tho. On a lighter note, jeeez Ridge has so many damn vineyard-specific offerings it was hard to find this Tedeschi Ranch item! Ha...guess I drank too much. — 5 years ago
