Enjoying a Valentine's Day dinner and a great wine! This super Tuscan will stand tall amongst the most expensive wines out there. So smooth and great balance. This is one of our favorites. — 10 years ago
Oak spice and soft tannins. — 11 years ago
Pleasant, refreshing, great with truffle cheese. Bottle is very tall. Buy again. — 11 years ago
Phinney does it again with this delicious blend! Somehow managed to capture the essence of Spain. Fruit forward, great dark red fruits with a poppy and succulent mouth feel. Very clean finish low-tannins makes for a very enjoyable bottle. — 12 years ago
1st vintage of close planted...poppy, black cherry, sits in the mid palate for minutes — 12 years ago
This was really good (had a clean perfumey flowers after taste but was not at all watery) was 14 bucks though — 13 years ago
GL tasting Pape Clement 10/18/17. Means tall oak tree. 60 Merlot 40 cab. Three vintages. '15 Nose of black berries and palette that's straightforward with some earthiness and medium finish. 8.8. 2010 nose that's black fruit and body with hints of wood and good structure. 8.9. 2005 nose that's complex with that autumnal secondary notes of age and good structure on palate and long finish. Rewards of aging. 9.0. Roland consulting previously but more moving away from me oak. — 9 years ago
Still standing tall. 30 minutes of air and this blossoms. A little spicy and tart initially but the fruit comes on late in the game with a marvelous citrus finish. This could hold for another 3-5 years but it is great right now. Drink it if you find it. — 10 years ago
Poppy yum. Bright. Citrus. — 10 years ago
Lemon pie and orange blossoms with lemon poppy madeleines lingering in the stratosphere. Banana bread and cedar shavings. The bourbon barrel screams from the glass. Hazelnut and pecan turn creamy vanilla pudding, pine nut, grass clippings and charred bits, with a satisfying carbon and graphite in a lemon pith middle burning a hot streak. — 10 years ago
Races out seconds after corking, however give it a few minutes to breath and you'll be drifting through a smooth & mellow field of tall grass — 10 years ago
#2005 #LaGeynale #Cornas #RobertMichel My favorite grape, #Syrah from my favorite region, #NorthernRhone ❤️ The Deep, dark purple/red color seduces you before your lips even touch the glass. "You had me at Hello..." (is what I may have said out loud actually) 😊. This wine is like a tall, sexy, brooding man with all the right moves😗😘. Once you taste it there's really no turning back... Savory, lightly spicy, rustic yet refined at the same time... This is a very unique and gorgeous bottle of wine. Unlike any other Cornas I have tried. Touch of funk dancing gracefully with the big tannins and perfectly round dark fruit... Such a smooth ride. I feel sorry for any other wine trying to win you over on the same night as him... & he will only get better with age👌😉 #Betony restaurant #ThirstyThursday #HappyGirl #Cheers 🍴🍷 — 11 years ago
A perfect PG with the requisite bright apple and nectarine flavors a a smooth honeyed finish. Exquisite when paired with Chinese food. — 12 years ago
Memaloose Cabernet Franc. On the wine list at Poppy. — 13 years ago
Slightly bubble; well-balanced — 13 years ago
Supercampano!? Cherries, rain, earth, a basketful of sun-warmed herbs. 2006 vintage but still very primary. This wine is seven feet tall and full of muscles. Where's the fat slow-roasted beef? De Conciliis never ceases to amaze. — 9 years ago
Dark ruby red. Fruity nose with distinct dark red fruits that come through on the pallet as well. Smooth tannins and a nice fruity finish. Good. — 9 years ago
A wall of cedar coated in turbinado crystals, sweet tea, vanilla mist, wintergreen and wildflower honey up the two-hole. Really a gorgeous array. Orange blossom honey, pine nut, rock candy, lemongrass, cocoanut, cocoa powder, soft vanilla, sweet tobacco, coffee candy, brickle notes, squash blossom, poppy flower, and the worlds most perfect raisin. As delightfully indulgent as drifting carelessly down a clean river in spring and being enveloped in an endless array of budding flora! — 10 years ago
In Antarctica on Seaborn Quest. With Lorraine and Steve. We loved it. — 10 years ago

A brilliant Sangiovese blend. Loving this example/vintage. Black cherries, spice box and coffee stand tall. Showing perfectly now, but could put on weight over time. Excellent. — 9 years ago
