Thanksgiving Paso Robles trip second day first stop. Vintage 2021. Smells and tastes like a young Chardonnay with long malo and gently and subtly oaked. Gold in color. Pomaceous, yellow peach, yellow delicious apples. Creme fraiche, yogurt, cream cheese, medium minus acidity, medium plus finish. — a year ago
Bright green-gold in the glass…lemon, pineapple, yuzu notes with a hint of green grass with lively acidity. Serious weight, nicely dry, touch of bitter grip on the finish. Tablas whites make wonderful dinner companions. Very nice foil for good Greek takeout of pasticcio, simple chicken kebabs, and skordelia. Opah! — 2 years ago

Meaty Syrah, jerky like notes — 8 years ago
Pale gold color with appealing mango, pineapple, honey and hints of ginger, sweet spice and citrus aromas. On the palate it's medium bodied, and off-dry with a supple, smooth texture and very good acidity. The flavors follow the aromas with spiced sweet lemon joining the party. Clean lingering finish — 10 years ago
Drinking well at 4 years of age. Viognier, grenache blanc, Marsanne and Roussanne. Silky texture, crisp, medium acidity with lemon skin, white peach, golden apple, white flowers, herbs, wet stone, and beginning to show some dried orange and lemon nuances. Beautiful with salt-roasted fish. Will drink well for another few years. — a year ago

Light- tablas creek is amazing. — 3 years ago
Light, crisp and refreshing! I’m traditionally not a huge fan of white, when given the choice, this this is wonderful! Added bonus the wine maker and owner recently hosted a virtual wine tasting! Love their organic farming methods ♥️ — 4 years ago

Bright golden color now that it has some age - this wine is mineral- and citrus-driven with lemon and grapefruit, wet stone and appealing acidity with just a bit of smoke (more flint perhaps) to round it out. Bracing with pan-seared swordfish. — 3 years ago
The 2010 Esprit de Beaucastel from Tablas Creek was a tough act to follow, but this elegant Rhône blend from Sonoma just did that.
The nose was quite similar with aroma of blue fruits and earthy elements with hint of violet, it was the palate that set it apart: soft, complex and deep, with great texture and beautiful acidity that adds the tension. Elegant and seamless.
Kale Anderson was the long time wine maker at Pahlmeyer, and Kale wines are all vineyard-specific. Worth seeking out. — 5 years ago
Finally. This wine takes much longer to show its core beauty than one might expect. Now layered and full of honeyed quince and green olive and hay and herbs. The baby fat is gone, and while this still holds weight on the palate, it's more muscled and taut, less big and sloppy. Very true to it's Rhône heritage. — 6 years ago
Love Beaucastel and its sister US winery, Tablas Creek. Lovely wine. Great Red Rhone. — 7 years ago
Wow! Light and bright and lovely... We enjoyed this one so much more than I remembered from the tasting room. I'm not usually a huge fan of grenache, but this was so elegant. The acidity made me wish we had a few bottles to hold and taste in a few years. — 8 years ago

This is a new world version offered a great Bandol rosé - mourvèdre-based for dark cherry, a hint of leather and a healthy p I ration of Grenache for strawberry, raspberry and honored floral notes. Good acidity, medium bodied with great fruit presence and a beguiling silky mouthfeel - it’s well-balanced and utterly satisfying. — a year ago
