It was worth getting lost on the way home to stumble across a sign that said "vins d'ailleurs." — 10 years ago
My Favourite Blend... Because of the stumble hints of Syrah — 10 years ago
Produced by Anselme and Corinne Selosse - owners of "les Avizes" hotel - a place I will visit to learn more about this fascinating producer. This wine is not like any champagne you have had before, your "initiale" impression might jolt your senses!! You must have an open mind and allow this wines innate qualities to take over. *oxidized style, a kiss of balsamic or sherry from time in wood and age of cuvée - this wine was disgorged in 2011 and is a blend of 03-04-05. I think a Tete de cuvée seeker will stumble on this wine and try to fit it in the wrong frame - at $250 it comes with expectations that a good Sommelier will need to steer. This is not like Krug or anything else - it is so unique that you probably need to totally remove your mind from Champagne.... With that said, this wine haunts my mind!!! Two days later it is all I can think about. I will attempt to describe: stewed apricot, lime zest, quince, balsamic, vanilla, and a bubble so faint that it acts like a housekeeper just refreshing the room that is your palate. Haunting - charming - devious - sensual - erotic - mind altering....must have again soon. — 11 years ago
You wake up in the house you used to live in, the colours both de- and super-saturated at the same time. You stumble down the stairs, and the feel of the red shag rug under your feet (where did that come from?) is the best. That feeling in you chest? Joy. — 11 years ago
A dark, brooding fruit nose of black cherry and pomegranate meets you, then hints of earth and spice stumble out. Killer structure allows for tart cherries and cranberries to shine. "California Pinot with Oregon elegance," is the only way I can describe it. Drinks much higher than the SRP ($27). — 9 years ago

I have searched high and low for the vuele cuvée version of Leffe and I happen to stumble upon it in a very American biker bar in Cadiz, Spain called Woodstock. Wow!! — 11 years ago
You drink Albariño because it's wonderful. You know what it is - it's elusive but worth the hunt. And every 10th bottle or so you stumble upon this - the true Albariño. Tangy stone fruit with a full mouth coating body and long finish. This is a perfect example of this grape. — 12 years ago
Cheers to Amanda for the tasting.
It's a small world when you stumble upon a winery owned and ran by a couple who live 5 minutes from you back in Adelaide. #wineworldissmall — 9 years ago
Fun to stumble upon this. There is more, but I'm not telling where. — 10 years ago
If you stumble across a 2010 vintage that someone doesn't realize the have (restaurant or small wine shop) be sure to fill up the truck. Top 100 wine that drinks with the best of the napa cabs at 1/2 the price. The 2011 vintage was much weaker in complexity. The 2012 is definitely an improvement but is young and needs age — 11 years ago

OK Delectable family: what do you call that moment after dessert and cheese when you stumble down to the cellar and ponder, "how do I go to the next level" when nobody can even level the table? We need a name for it, as that's where I was when Dan took my hand off the Henschkes in a "please put the weapon down slowly" mumble. Thankfully he aimed it at this pleasant, potent, young jammy 407 Cab that, as I can best recall, did a damned good job evoking a young Napa Cab. I think I said Round Pond? Ignore the score it's a hazy guess, but thanks Dan - we need a term for cellar friends like that, too! — 9 years ago
