La Rioja Alta is but a stone's throw from my other favorite Rioja producer, Lopez de Heredia. The pedigree of the 2005 Reserva Viña Ardanza is evidenced by layered, complex aromatics—leather, terracotta roof tiles, plums and sun-baked figs, Madagascar vanilla bean and a lofty top note of char. In the mouth, it's medium bodied, but no less intense, and varied, with red cherries giving way to black peppercorn and green notes of dill, celeriac and dried rosemary. Perhaps even dark chocolate shavings. — 10 years ago
Excellent DIPA, big tropical and citrus malts, for a double, it drinks so smooth, cannot taste the ABV at all, taste profile is similar to Stone's " Enjoy By" but not as big fresh hopped, but close, when fresh, This is Beer Republic's Crown Jewel IPA, so if you are like me and love their other beers, Racer 5, Racer X, you will love this — 10 years ago
I cannot believe I forgot to review this, had this so many times, maybe I did review it, just do not see the post, anyway, this is Stone's session IPA, what that means is, it is a lighter version of a IPA, most have 6-7 % alc/vol, this 4.5%, they use a hop bursting process, adding late addition dry hope at the end, big tropical notes and flavor, mango, passion fruit, pineapple, excellent beer, when you do not want to be blown away, but still want a hoppy fruity IPA — 10 years ago
Picked the cheapest bottle of merlot at Mollie Stone's... and were pleasantly surprised! Delicious! — 11 years ago
Love this beer, Stone's Famous lank mark strong ale "Basartd" 17 Adversary, combines all three "Basartd's to make the best of all, big fresh hops, because it is only released fresh once a year, big west coast style, leans more to a double IPA, but rich Carmel malt backbone, just awesome brew, nails the best of all three — 11 years ago
As promised this is a good "everyday" wine that goes well with pasta and pizza. — 11 years ago

2011 vintage. Clos des Rosiers Monopole. How odd: this tiny monopole a stone's throw from Clos des Lambreys, is not even Premier Cru, although when the vines reach their 18th year this might change. The Clos, which incorporates a flower garden, watering-hole for ducks and chickens, along with Torpedo, the Domaine's faithful dog, produces an elegant silky approachable wine that punches above its lowly position on the AOC totem pole. For those looking for a bargain, it would be hard to find better as there's really no logical reason why this plot is inferior to the one over the other side of the wall. — 10 years ago
A great pleasure to drink this at Rebelle with Mr Schoener a stone's throw away at the bar. Excellent, tropical fruit nose with great acidity, length, and food versatility. — 10 years ago
From an estate just a stone's throw across the river from highly esteemed vineyards of Châteauneuf du Pape. The winemaker, Rodolphe de Pins, is a UC Davis grad and one of the former winemakers from Vieux Telegraphe. This wine's pedigree and classic style shows through. Complex and layered with notes of cherry, blackberry, garrigue, and pepper. It continues to bloom with another layer of floral, pine needles, and cedar. Lingering tannins and vibrant acidity polish the lustrous finish. The 2010 vintage was exceptional for the Southern Rhone, this wine included. — 10 years ago
This is one of my all time favorites, released every year, and sells out quickly, it is one of Stone's most aggressive beers, if not the most, borders on a barley wine, huge malts and hops, 11% ABV, big big Beer, this not for the faint of heart, I Love this beer, and buy a case every year, it cellars very well, but fresh, it blows you away, the hops are awesome, This is one of my favorite beers, from my favorite brewery, Excellent beer — 11 years ago

This the New revamped version of Stone's Landmark Classic Double West Coast IPA, 2.0 It adds newer hops and picks up the ABV 8.5% because of the need to stand in the current market of big and hoppy IPA's these days, Stone decided to improve their classic beer, and yes it is a improvement, more tropical and cleaner malt, still bitter by most standards, hence the name, Until "Enjoy By" came about this was my favorite DIPA, Still a Great beer, and I do like the new hop profile, but as much as "Enjoy By" this is still just a big hop bomb, "Ruinten " is always the one to pick up ever year, but overall great that Gregg decided to do this, good choice, I am happy to still have this available all year long in its New improved version — 10 years ago
Delicious and drinking great right now. Savory dark fruits and a long, satisfying finish. — 10 years ago
A perfect Double/Imperial IPA, this Batch#20 December 2014, This define's the style, is it better than Pliny The Elder? I would say so, I would go as far to say I like than Pliny The Younger, the closest beer I can compare it to, Big Big Hops, excellent sweet malt to balance out this big hop Bomb, this just so delicious and smooth for such a monster of a brew, 102 IBU, 10.2% ACL One Great beer that any beer geek needs to try, A true Classic like Stone's Ruination that changed IPA's forever, This one sets the bar so high, cannot wait to see another beer surpass this — 10 years ago
Great finish. — 11 years ago
Great with lasagna ! — 11 years ago
Great session IPA, love the white wine character, nice hops, different than most IPA's in this style, but a little thin and watered down, Stone's Go To, is better — 11 years ago
Enjoyed this but too carried away with dinner - rabbit, pancetta and prune pie baked a stone's throw from this winery in Red Hill - to pay close attention. But the wine looked fresh and youthful, with good red-fruit intensity and layered complexity. Spot on. — 11 years ago
This was an excellent wine with homemade pizza (prosciutto, basil and mozzarella on homemade, Going Solo in the Kitchen crust). Perfect for a relaxing night at home. — 12 years ago
