Great depth and flavor. Def buy again — 4 years ago
Sourced from the Walla Walla Rocks District, this opens with Umami and nori tones that mingle with Mandarin orange rind, and guava puree tones that all dance in the glass. The palate is plush, showing off its silky texture. Layers of bright red fruits collide with minerals, charcuterie, citrus rind accents and stony undertones on the palate. Sinfully good in its youth, this beautiful wine will cellar well over the next decade. Drink 2020-2030- 94 — 5 years ago
Strawberry and summer berries with a hint of gooseberry — 5 years ago
Very bright, smooth and juicy. Chocolate and loads of cherry up front. Super fine integrated tannins. Evolves into a spicy long finish. — 6 years ago
Woodward Canyon has gained a national reputation for producing high quality Chardonnay. This great new release, the 2017 Woodward Canyon ‘Washington State’ Chardonnay, is sourced from a host of great vineyards across the state. The wine was aged in a small percentage of new French oak prior to bottling. Ironically the wine was bottled on my birthday in May, 2018. The nose takes on a ton of appeal with roasted pineapple, toasty oak, Pink Lady apple and brioche aromatics. The palate shows a wonderful tension, astringency and richness. Gravenstein apple, brioche, and Meyer lemon creme brûlée flavors all strut their stuff in the glass. This is a gorgeous wine that has some good cellaring potential. Drink 2019-2029-

$9.99 for a great organic wine. I can’t make this stuff up. Strawberries on the nose. Medium body. Tart on the front then subtly sweet. — 7 years ago
2011 Vintage - (out of 375ml) first time for this producer young color red rim - beautiful varietal character Cabernet Sauvignon dominate - currants, berries, distilled Napa Valley Character at its best - nice balance with fruit and tannins -and unlike some of the wines out of Napa not over extracted or exaggerated alcohols - beautiful balance — 4 years ago

Smooth, easy drinking. Love the little bit of bite on the end — 5 years ago
Starting to soften just slightly and drinks well now with a short decant. Bright red fruits from the grenache, some darker and more savory elements from the mourvedre and just a touch of syrah which I can’t pick out on the palate but makes for a nice bouquet. — 6 years ago
Minerals initially segueing into light fruit. Fun. — 7 years ago
Thanks Goaley, great as always... Washington Merlots are very good — 4 years ago
Super impressed. Decanted 2 hrs. Dense black fruit just shy of a hammer. Would not have guessed Merlot (mostly) or Napa if I’d tasted blind. One of the more memorable wines I’ve had from the vintage. — 5 years ago
Great bordeaux style wine. Medium balance with plenty of fruit forward - 2011 is drinking great — 6 years ago
Smells of fruit grown in gravel.
Loud blueberries, cran Pom grape good, clean, smooth, mouthfeel and wonderfully light heft. A whole lot bouncing around in this wine. The acid oak balance is strikingly harmonious.
Lingering blue fruit skin. A good one to watch the latest GOT with.

It's time for #MerlotThursday. Here's a great one from Columbia Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, cherries, cooked plums, wood, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, smoke, dark coffee, mocha, earth, leather, coke and black pepper. What a great nose.
Full bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, spices, espresso, chocolates, peppercorn, earth sweet vinaigrette, dark coffee and light mocha.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This 4 year old Merlot from Washington State surprised me.
Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel.
Soft, spicy and smooth. Peaking now, and better now than a year or two ago.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (1 hour).
I paired it with a filet mignon and grilled asparagus.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

This is a solid Merlot. It’s smooth but rather one note to me. I don’t get the level of flavors in this one. It is beautiful in the glass and over all a decent Merlot. I would buy again — 4 years ago
