Having had the "Classic Reserve" Topaque a few weeks ago, the "Rare" is a step up in concentration and length. Unctuous in texture the palate is mouthfilling with a never ending finish. Sweet wine from Australia. Surprisingly amazing! Deep Amber, smell of wood and "rhum raisin" Christmas cake like. Prune, mushroom, long finish, great with blue cheese. Somewhere in between a sauterne and a tawny port (if it's possible) — 9 years ago
Lovely raisiny muscat. Excellent with Christmas pud! — 9 years ago

Amazing concentration - unctuous is the word! A little sweeter than the Rare Topaque but the same essence of fruit cake and raisins. Only 350 half bottles of Rare made each year. A stunning fortified!! — 9 years ago
