I am proud to introduce an Italian Super Tuscan that I have been looking for for years! This is a wonderful example of a cabernet Franc at 30%!!!!! And a cabernet sauvignon blend. If you want an affordable cab / cab franc - one of my favorites, you absolutely have to try this one. Please note, if I give a wine a perfect score it means I would be happy to serve it to anyone at anytime with my 100% confidence that they will love it and want it and love me for it!!!! OMG. This is awesome! Here we go, this is Brancatelli, Valle Delle Stelle, Toscana 2013! It is only 13.5 %! First, decant for 30 minutes!!!! The color is dark but not opaque! The legs are long, thick, slow, and numerous in number. The bouquet is sweet cherry pie baking in the oven with a spicy aroma and a fig tree with rip figs. The initial palate is of coarse blackberry and dark currant with a mid palate explosion of vanilla and spice. The finish is oaky and dry leaving you wanting a splash of water to wet your palate! I adore this wine! — 8 years ago
Try it with a splash of lime juice — 9 years ago
Yum. Could pair with lots of food. Tonight goes well with pasta. Sauce made slow with tomato, crimini mushrooms, sweet italian sausage, and splash of fish sauce. — 9 years ago
Scrumptious Chenin Blanc w/splash of Viognier for good measure. Loved it. — 9 years ago
Unique lychee flavor, exotic and fun. — 10 years ago
Look out, evildoers! "Superman's Pal" has the scoop on a brand new AVA, Manton Valley, near Mount Lassen. This Chard is refreshing with pear and sweet apple flavors, a restrained splash of butter, and a touch more residual sugar than usual, like that of a PG. I enjoyed this with rotisserie chicken, fresh French brad and Brie cheese, and a Greek salad with feta, olives, and avocado. — 10 years ago
I always buy multiple bottles when I go to the Big E because they don't sell it in NY :( who wants to send me some? Hahah — 10 years ago
Put this on the shelf for a few years. Great dark berry and cherry but enough tannin to ripe your face off! Splash decant if drinking young! — 10 years ago
Love this wine! Great QPR..Grenache...Carignan....Syrah...and a splash of Mourvedre. Berries..spice..violets..and dark chocolate! Costco $12.99..balance is spot on! Love my Sunday night (post weekend to work) wine! I hope everyone had a nice Easter!!🐣 — 6 years ago
Nicely balanced cooler climate Syrah. Blueberries to blackberries, a splash of viogner helps with aromatics. Still young, have another bottle for later. Hudson ranch, Weill, & alder springs make up most of the blend. Another steal at $20 — 8 years ago
Sweet, fruity. — 9 years ago
Earthy, big body, med dry, really nice wine, great after taste — 9 years ago
Nose is a benign fruitiness that is replaced by a splash of easy, acidic grapefruit and brightness. Wonderful to drink and leaves nothing to complain about. Yum. — 9 years ago
Love the 2010s. Splash decant and it is drinking well can't wait to see how they evolve — 10 years ago
Citrus nose big splash of grapefruit on the palate; crisp, bright; great summer wine! — 10 years ago
Can't really beat this on price point. More of white profile with candied lemon zest and apricot with a splash of Monastrell to add complexity and that irresistible salmony, peachy color. But in the end, this is all about clean, precise minerality. Delicious! — 10 years ago
Deep amber color. Aromas of birch bark, vanilla, old linens, and mahogany. It smells like autumn leaves in the deep woods after rain, and it tastes like wood, too—birch and pecan, walnut, sarsaparilla. There's roundness at the front and sharpness at the back, and the finish is bitter nut. Pour straight over ice or add tonic and a splash of white port. 16% abv | $28 (New Hampshire) — 11 years ago
A wonderful tasting put on by Classic Wine Storage featuring Long Shadows Winery. If you aren’t familiar with these wines, they are phenomenal WA state wines that are made by the likes of Randy Dunn, Phillipe Melka, Michel Rolland, John DuVall, and more.
Dominant Sangiovese with some cab and a splash of Syrah. Rich style sangio wine. Sweet oak, dirty cherries, herbs, and a high percentage/bitter dark chocolate. — 7 years ago

A dark ruby-red saturating splash of a strong yet lighter-bodied Zin. Steady balance. A strong but slightly muted acidity. Lightly dry cotton chalkiness and minerality with a simple, densely-woven velvet texture. A subtly-dense, penetrating, and semi-lush blend of flavors: plum, blackberries, tobacco, cedar, spice, dark chocolate, coffee beans. Lingering blanket of smooth oaky flavor with staying power. This wine won't be for everyone; it has a very particular identity and will be a bit too daring for some. — 8 years ago
It tastes like a Pina Colada! — 9 years ago
Delish Rioja. Old world, light funk, firm tannin and a splash of fruit. A crowd pleaser worthy of any occasion. — 9 years ago
