It’s rosé season in spirit in Chicago. This is a great one. Nice balance of the acid you expect with lush fruit off the old Mourvèdre vines. Wish I had more bottles for actual warm weather. — 7 years ago
Surprisingly good Pinot noir. Good nose, with some body to it. — 8 years ago

This is a special bottle of wine--I've never experienced Argentina at this level. The cassis, the eucalyptus, the structure, the Bordeaux earth. Just getting started. — 9 years ago
A very round, well balanced cab. I imagine a light purple stratocumulus cloud at the tip of the palate; not overwhelming, but present in an enjoyable way. Yes. — 10 years ago
This is their big boys blend of Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon merlot petite Verdot and cab franc — 11 years ago

This Single Vineyard is showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Needs 4 hours in a decanter to open up properly and show tannins and all of the complexity.

2012 Vintage is the best vintage by far of this wine. Huge finish to this wine with lots of fruit, if I tasted blind I would have guessed a Napa Cab — 8 years ago
Intense full bodied red of Malbec and Cab Sauvignon, rich silky plums raspberry, smoky, leathery, but of tannins need lots of time to breathe, and great with spicy dishes. — 8 years ago
You just can't beat a Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. This one didn't disappoint. Very smooth and not much of a spicy finish but still a great Malbec for the price. — 9 years ago
One of the best Merlots ever! Wonderful apple and strawberry nose. Smooth and moderate tannins with a hint of leather and moderate acidity. Not overly sweet like the nose would indicate — 9 years ago
A little fruit forward, but nice for this hot summer day. — 10 years ago
My favorite of our (Briceland) whites. Sad we are low on the 13. 14 is not ready yet. — 10 years ago
Great wine for the price. A very different bright citrus/ grapefruit on the nose, with a bit of chocolate, mint, eucalyptus underneath. Opens up to a distinct sage element. Easy drinking with only a moderate finish, but good flavor — 6 years ago
Very nice wine - Yum! — 6 years ago
Wonderful Argentinian Red Blend from a French producer. Malbec (60%)Syrah (20%)and Cabernet Franc (20%). Deep purple color. Aromas and flavors of chocolate and hazelnuts (Nutella), and beef jerky with a great peppery finish. (The Syrah!). Beautiful velvety texture. My new favorite Argentinian. Thank you for bringing this one, Kase! Revisited in May 2020. Still outstanding! Vanilla is more pronounced. Revisited again in January 2021. Still beautifully balanced. — 7 years ago
Nice amount of oak, idk if spice is the word is for me, more of a musky goodness. Hints of guava. — 8 years ago

Shay A

Cheval des Andes tasting with their technical manager who is also an assistant winemaker. Tasted ‘05, ‘07, ‘14 and ‘15. Very cool story behind this winery (and its affiliation with Chateau Cheval Blanc).
This contained the largest percentage of Malbec they’ve ever used at 83%, rounded out by petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Decidedly darker and more dense on the mid palate than the ‘15. The texture was more plush and this seems to be open for business now...not sure it has the structure to hold as long as the ‘15. More plum, added black currant and licorice. — 6 years ago
