1985 Sassicaia. Second red wine at Redd Wood lunch w A, S, and K. This wine was perfect. Epic. We could not believe how perfect this wine was drinking. Thoroughly enjoyed it- it was enjoyable the way truffles are- hard to describe, but pleasing to all relevant senses. — 10 years ago
Some smoky flint and poultry jumping out of the glass, the initial off-gas as this bloomed beautifully. The bottle only lasted about 45 minutes out on our table and in that time it settled nicely into a canvas of concentrated minerals white flowers perfect ripeness the right acidity. Lean and muscular, no fat, no human hands present here. Highly recommended. Iroulewhat?! Who would've known? Thanks kermit. Fried food for the win. — 11 years ago

Great alternative to Sauv blanc. Fresh and citrusy. My new $10 table wine. Great bargain from SW France. — 13 years ago

We really really like this wine. Not as dry, but great body. Not sweet either. Good wine. — 8 years ago
Opaque ruby/blueberry hue and viscous legs make for an alluring appearance. Musty cherries in the nose. Acidic and tart on the frontal palate; volatile tannic closure. — 10 years ago
What a fun, inexpensive gem. — 11 years ago

Ridiculous how well this ages for the value — 7 years ago
First thing I notice is the golden color. Very floral, white flowers, can smell the green stem of a flower. Smells very hot, with mineral/shell/slate. Also smells sweet, honey suckle, and butterscotch. Must be oaked at least slightly. Tastes hot, high acidity, citrus notes/grapefruit. Very juicy as well, in guava, pineapple, tropical fruits for sure, and green grapes. Also low mouth feel, aka thin, but it is refreshing. I've never tried either of these grapes and really enjoy it. Pretty complex and tasty! — 8 years ago
Excellent Gascogne Ugni/Colombard blend. Super fresh, with lemon, tangerine, & floral accents. Great for a warm SoCal "fall" night. — 8 years ago
Funky earthy dry cheesy... Very very "natural" — 10 years ago
Dry Gros Manseng with its lovely nutty, honeyed, oxidative character. Beautiful deep golden color. Great acidity. — 10 years ago
