Black cherry & raspberry with tobacco & earth. Smooth drinking with good tannic structure & length. #valdeorras #sousón — 9 years ago

Mix of ripe and tart red fruits. Lots of red candy things going on-- slightly anisey licorice, with a Spree/Sweet Tart tangy finish to it (dang I love that candy). Also brings in a bit of red pepper and almost a eucalyptus or sprucy element. A touch of sweet paprika
Tannins are soft and silky, acid is medium/medium plus. Alcohol medium. Magenta starting to take on just a but of Ruby hues. Finish is long and tangy.
This would be my dream wine if it had just a bit more rustic, underbrushy, stemminess and minerality. Really tasty.
Wine has Pedral, Sousón, and Espadeiro and has spent 6mo crianza-- really curious about the oak aging. I'm assuming old neutral barrels bcz there's no oaky spice or vanilla there.

A good solid friend to hold the crab meat and spinach falafels. Beetroot salad and sour dough bread with nocellara olives. — 9 years ago
Notes of raspberry and forest floor/pine needles on the nose. Fig and plum notes with a very smooth finish. — 4 years ago
Outstanding. — 4 years ago
Nattyish. Straightforward, raw aromas of cassis, ripe plum. Lifted and high-toned from VA. Rather short finish, but the freshness and pop compensates. Needs a roasted haunch of beast to show at its best. — 5 years ago
Definite gaminess-- like medium-rare venison. Canned Thanksgiving cranberry jellly-- like the stuff that takes the shape of the can. Ripe strawberry. Wild herbs and field of grains. Rose petals. Beef jerky. Tomato leaf. Red licorice. Bit of sweet tobacco. No doubt this is a complex wine.
This is the type of wine that right when I open and taste I think, "this is going to be absolutely delicious and layered in like two days if I leave it". And it's even gorgeous after like 20min in the glass.
Med/med+ gritty tannin, medium acidity, medium + body. Very Ruby red with clear rim. Lot of staining. Has a big feel, but it's somehow still light and refreshing.
Honestly, it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be for a Rias Biaxas Tinto. Feels so Rhone Grenache to me. This nose is so beautiful though... 91.5 — 5 years ago
Bright and pretty--honestly drinks like the bottle design! Floral, fresh, fruity (raspberry? Sour cherry?), light, but with just enough just enough body and tannin to feel substantial. — 7 years ago
Brancellao, Sousón, Caiño; 1/3 of each, Just a touch too rich — 8 years ago
These are the kind of wines that Spain is showing to the World... A 100% Souson from Rías Baixas, the power of galician reds... — 9 years ago

16€ aprox. Excelente caldo. — 4 years ago
