Fantastic wine from South Africa. Winemaker is ace! — 12 years ago
When I first moved to NY, I worked with a guy who was, well, maybe connected. Like Tony Soprano connected. And he went to I Trulli a LOT. And so I was inspired to try it and it. was. good. Back for only my 2nd time, the all-Italian wine list is certainly intimidating, but I know the Nebbiolo grape, as finicky as it may be, is one people respect, and nurture, and cultivate into something gorgeous. This Barolo is awesomely-paired with my arugula and fresh parm salad - star anise (maybe a theme here?!), cherry, blackberry to the nose. I respect a good Barolo in that this grape requires optimal conditions to flourish, and altho it's such a small part of the Piedmont output, it's often the most coveted. I Trulli love you. 😉 Now bring on the pasta! #bepicky #barolo — 9 years ago
Easy on the Nosé. Violin solo, philharmonic in the park, lyric soprano. — 10 years ago
Exceptional beauty -just growing out of the first blush of a pretty youth to the strength of womanhood -red currants, crunchy red cherries, a mandarin citrus peel scent, gentle tannins and fine boned structure -a gentle spice and a haunting soprano finish whose sustained finish defies expectation -a force without weight -angelic. Laurent Drouhin just said "Chamboll-Musigny will never be a deep dark Pinot Noir ...definitely because of the soil." To which I thank the terroir and the Drouhins. — 11 years ago
Colder fruit denser texture, tannins are big but not harsh. — 12 years ago
I love this! It's bright (makes me wish I could sing a soprano note, because I definitely would!!), beautiful citrus and a hint of brioche. Like I said, I love this! Real deal! — 10 years ago
