Where the La Solana is fruit forward the Ciruelo is defined on the nose by a smoky, meaty and mineral. A wonderfully pure palate with a dark chocolate tannins but very svelte, delicious with a lovely acidity and fresh, red fruited finish — 11 years ago

Blind tasting, number 2. Garnet red in color. Musty nose with some floral notes and that of potpourri. Low tannins with a body that starts off slowly and then gets fuller (not full) in the end. Finish lingers for a few that is slightly tangy and metallic. — 10 years ago
