Completely wonderful. Top of its game, not going any longer. Wonderful sherry oxidative notes. Flora and light. — 9 years ago
A great wine for a special day. The name Casa Real is to honor Don Vicente Garcia Huidobro, whose title was given by the King of Spain in the 18th century.
It is the best of the chilean terroir, coming from the heart of Vale del Maipo. Preserved in French oak, it's a must! After "breathing" it gets even better. Cheers!

Ripe blackberry and black plum coalesce with baking spices such as cocoa and an underlying flavor of savory spices such as cayenne. — 4 years ago
Love this. I could drink this whole bottle easily. It’s just spicy enough! Delicious — 5 years ago
Dark berries and a hint of orange peel, with a little graphite and stone. Medium acidity and tannins. Very good value, which is typical of the wines I’ve had from this producer. — 6 years ago
Big, full, heavy. We loved it. — 8 years ago
1973: Beautiful bottle. Wines like this make everyone stop and take notice. The color was clear and light. Arresting nose full of plums and roasted beets. The depth of flavor and long finish was in contrast with the appearance. Really a fine experience, only second to the few times I had the 1952 Mont Real. — 8 years ago
Fruit forward, dark cherry, dried herb. Fruit upfront, ripe cherry, texture tannin, dense flavors, structured with good body weight. — 9 years ago

What a discovery, at $20 a bottle this is a massive deal on quality. Berries, Plum, Spices but above all, a perfect balance between sweetness (not overpowering ) and alcohol , an excellent price-quality ratio — 8 years ago
Good enough for an evening with just me and a book. Not to overpowering. — 9 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Dark ruby color, with purple edges, with aromas of red fruits and herb pepper spice. On the palate flavors of blueberry and plum with pepper, licorice and herb spice. Firm tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and and mineral spice. — 9 months ago
