#gonuts #px #pedroximenez power. Sixty years old and glorious. Acetate and burnt caramel nose along with brown sugar and vanilla palate. Seems like a Burgundian Jerez. So balanced it's insane. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter, slightly acidic, slightly full bodied. Seriously delicious — 9 years ago
Not bad for a sixty year old wine. Took a few hours to settle in. Initially.flat on the finish, the wine resolved itself and was drinking beautifully after two hours. Old wines just taste songood; mellow, low alcohol, smooth, smooth, smooth with a light hint of tobacco and dark cherries. — 10 years ago

Owned by Ferruccio Lamborghini, yes, the same inventor of the sportscar, Lamborghini Umbria Campoleone 2006 is a magnanimous blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot. While it won't take you from zero-to-sixty in less than three seconds, it sports a generous nose of black plums, steeped blackberries, leather, anise and flowers. On the palate, there is ample plump, juicy fruit—black cherries and spice and amid layers of ripe tannins, and enough acidity to provide both lift and length. Tasty and easy drinking. — 11 years ago
Sangria, sangria, sangria! Idea nice. — 13 years ago
Gone in sixty seconds. Not one to complain on price but i wish this was half the price and doesn't need the wax seal — 8 years ago

The 1955. Sixty years ago a lot of things were different in the golden state. "Burgundy" was "a blend of Gamay and other fine grapes". This half bottle made it, and still had allure and pleasure if only on a thin, frail frame. It was much improved from hours of decanter time. — 11 years ago

The old vine bottling from Monsieur Dutraive hails from a parcel of sixty-five to seventyfive year-old vines and is raised entirely in Burgundy barrels, ranging from one to five years of age, so there is a little wood influence to this cuvée. The 2013 is outstanding, offering up a deep and nascently complex bouquet of cherries, raspberries, coffee, gamebird, lovely soil tones, spice elements redolent of clove and mace, a bit of mustard seed and a nice touch of cedary new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and youthfully structured, with a sappy core, fine soil signature and a bit of tannin to resolve on the long, youthful finish. This is emphatically not a classic style of Fleurie, but it is an extremely well-made wine whose inspiration seems to be as much Vosne-Romanée as it is Fleurie. The focus and balance here are impeccable and I see no reason this wine will not age superbly well, and for those who are looking for a gateway Fleurie to make the transition from the Côte d’Or to Cru Beaujolais, this is a perfect wine! 2017-2030+. - John Gilman — 12 years ago

A Southern Rhone blend most likely as Gigondas appellation. Dry and fruity like dark skin cherry. Nutmeg spice in the palate and a beautiful long finish and layers of strawberry and sweet tobacco. I paired it with fish soup — 10 years ago

We had the '85, '88, '93 and '03 Musigny together. The '85 is still fresh with a long finish, at least sixty seconds.
The '88 is similar on the, but exhibits much more red fruit than the '85. The '03 was a little more fruit forward than the ''85 and '88. Very approachable. All paired with a mushroom soup in tea broth. — 11 years ago
Still in its infancy. The tannins are so powerful on this wine you would think it could age for sixty years. My gums were on fire, but in a good way-you can tell 09 was one of the best. Very rich, ripe fruit with notes of blueberry and toffee. Future looks fantastic. — 11 years ago
Heavens! The pulchritude of Pinot Meunier... Single vineyard, ungrafted Pinot Meunier planted more than sixty years ago yields a fragrant wonder of tangy plums and red fruit, lofty pumpernickel and a joy unlike any champagne I've ever had but a wholehearted pleasure. — 12 years ago

I love this wine. It feels like you’re holding metal spokes in your mouth. Great focus. Very mineral, some passionfruit and a touch of lime. A “mini GG” if there ever was. — 8 years ago
