Laser beam to my Chardonnay pleasure center. Such focused orchard fruit, flint and sappiness , with a hint of salinity. Reductive (surprise!) upon opening, much more giving with a couple hours in the decanter. Every time I question the QPR of white Burgundy, Roulot reels me back in. Thanks, @Evan Vallee. This 09 Aubaine is extremely fresh with great acid. Score is based on potential for this brawny but balanced beauty. Should be even better in a few years. — 8 years ago
2012 is a great vintage. Should be able to age well, but great to enjoy right now. Slightly drier than the Couer de Vallee. — 9 years ago

@Mike R @David L @Joe Lucca @Ron R @Paul T The WOTN was a beauty so generously given to me by my Bud Paul Treadway! Thanks Paul!!! The tasting notes between the Beau Vigne Estate and Morlet's Coeur de Vallee are eerily similar. The true differentiation between the 2 is Morlet's seem less integration at this time. My buddy Kirk @Kirk Alexander always says "The test of a great wine is when nothing jumps out at you". This particular bottle did just that. Every person this evening commented on the fact that it was such a superbly balanced wine. It was dialed back ever so slightly in all the right spots for it to dance on your palate effortlessly.
Thank you Paul for a stellar bottle!!
It was enjoyed by friends outdoors on this beautiful S FL cool night. What else could one ask for?

10 years on lees. Rich and creamy style of champagne with stewed nectarine and lemon curd. Super fine bubbles, a very intense pleasure to drink, the kind you never want to end. 2001 vintage is a 70% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay. Vallee de la Marne. Exquisite. — 8 years ago
Rich cool taste. Not as dry as some I have had previously — 8 years ago
1187 Cave Mont Blanc Italia, mountain froth! — 8 years ago
This wine is deep and dark. The inky indigo color telegraphs the nose, exploding with blue and black berries and cassis, a whiff of campfire smoke and a mountain of prehistoric terroir. The palate is laden with dark fruit, too, not to mention spice and earth. The sage and rosemary linger into a finish that won't let you forget them. The tannic structure is fit for meat and aging while the acidity refreshes and causes the mouth to water. Beautiful work, Mike Sinor. — 9 years ago
Extreme indeed! An extremely bone dry sparkler. Vallee d'Aoste, 2011 — 9 years ago

Just a little something something to prep my palate before the Festivities began! Solid Chardonnay but I expected more.
On the fun side!: Blind tasting three wines tonight with friends: 2013 Beau Vigne Estate, 2014 Becklyn Reserve & 2013 Morlet Coeur de Vallee. Can't wait to dig in to those 3 bad boys!!! — 7 years ago
Great, but a baby. Accessible now, but only hinting at the complexities to come - not going to kick it off the table, but its best years are still to come. Beautiful Volnay fruit. Thanks @Evan Vallee ! — 8 years ago
Great wine. Grapes are grown in a pure region with clean water from melted snow on the tops of Mount Blanc. Very little pollution in the region makes the outcome very good. — 9 years ago
