Finally a night or weekend we weren’t working on our rental, rushing to get some Christmas shopping done or getting ready to entertain holiday guests. It’s a night for us to chill out. That’s a good thing. It is also our final night to enjoy all our Christmas candlelights before we pack up tomorrow. 😔
We didn’t even enjoy any of one our very favorite N/V Rosé Champagnes over the holidays.
Tastes really good tonight. Showing shades of carbonated Dreamsicle or Creamsicle. However, you remember them growing up. Rich, ripe, candied & lean; black cherries, strawberries, cherries and summertime leaner watermelon. Baguette, grey volcanics, sea spray and finely powdered, razor sharp chalkiness with candied, pink rose pedals. Perfect, crisp, lively acidity and long, rich, well polished & balanced finish with persistence.
Hope you all have had a great start to 2020! — 4 years ago
Cherry and spice, just like the label says. Great balance. This one is out of the park. — 6 years ago
Renegade Wine dinner series at Rebelle NYC presented by sommelier Patrick Cappiello. Focus was on Cab Franc: 15 wines paired with 5 courses. Posting a few favorites.
Was excited to see this on the list. A very French style of Cab Franc - but a nice balance of savory and fruit. A touch sour but very smooth, round and refreshing. Was excellent with food (beet tartare).

2004 drank smooth, nice fruit balanced acid. Finished well — 5 years ago
Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, florals, minerals, strong strawberry, raspberry and cherry. On the palate, very fruit forward, with strawberry dominating, cherry and raspberry as well. Oak, leather, chocolate and more strawberry on a long finish. Moderate and well balanced tannins. Medium body and opened up to a surprisingly rich mouthfeel and great, drinkable wine. — 6 years ago
2011 vintage. At Au Fils du Zinc in Chablis. Fabian recommended this bottle over the more famed Les Clos 2011 as he thought it would be drinking better. And boy he was right. A very big wine, I would recommend serving it ever so slightly colder than normal to restrain the power in this wine. Medium golden hue. The wine has crushed rock chalkiness, honey blossom and plenty of ripe peach notes. On the palate, this wine explodes with power and ripeness, medium plus body and a very broad mid palate that coats your tongue. The acidity makes your lips smack and powers the very long citrus finish. Hugely impressive compared with my expectations. Really enjoyable particularly with the cheese I had for dessert. Drink now - doubt it can get much better from here. — 7 years ago
Crazy awesome. Tons of black pepper, smoke, tobacco and bacon fat. Luscious dark fruits. Very fruit forward palate. Waaaaaay too young. — 9 years ago

Sophisticated summer in a bottle... Lovely bouquet of flowers, peaches, vanilla, carmel and almonds- reminded me of peach cobbler. I was grateful for the long clean finish as I did not want it to end. Lovely! — 11 years ago

AWESOME. Great structure and flavor. Dark fruit and tobacco. Only thing missing is a good cigar. — 9 years ago
Deep flavors of black cherry along with some blueberry notes and also a creamy texture. Delicious wine!!!!! 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Cab Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. — 9 years ago
Still tight and tannic, big fruit bomb in the mouth. Opens nicely, nose is reserved with dark fruit and pencil shavings. — 9 years ago
