While visiting the Qupé tasting room in Los Olivos, they poured the medium-ruby '11 Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard Pinot Noir. A funky earthy nose intermixed with floral and savory herb notes. Subtle and elegant palate of cranberry and cherry flavors. Hints of neutral oak on the aftertaste. — 11 years ago
Marsanne at its best in the new world — 11 years ago

1967: Average bottle. Showing maturity in the glass, in the nose, and on the palate. Not shot, simply a solid wine adding appropriately, yet not the plum one hopes for. More Tom Sawyer than Huck Finn. Some nice herbal notes, medium weight, buoyed by being next to the classier (today, anyway) 1974 at the same meal. — 10 years ago
