I saved this bottle for a number of years and it was worth the wait!! Mild tannin and subtle American oak gave way to ripe dark fruit and a silky texture. Perfect for a cool spring evening with a porterhouse and some grilled veggies. — 8 years ago
Tight and rough on opening. Much better on day two. I wish I had saved more. Margarita mix, lemon verbena, hint of some sweet fruit, and lots of acid. A bit linear. — 8 years ago
Great #priorat! Really bold and full, with a savory finish and ashy texture. Wish I had saved this bottle for the colder months. 15.5%. #garagiste — 9 years ago
Glad I saved this baby. Although I prefer Gewurztraminers with more of a floral flourish, I think this is reflective of the warm 2010 vintage in the Finger Lakes: orange & quince on the palate and yeah, lychee all the way. Orange blossom on the nose too. Lovely! The body is pleasantly oily and the finish long and smooth. #hermannjwiemer #flxwine #flx #gewürztraminer #gewurztraminer — 9 years ago
Purchased at Total Wines in the low $20 range and saved the bottle to purchase again. 2012 vintage, consumed in early October 2014. — 10 years ago
Saved from last year! Yum! — 10 years ago
Kaffir lime burst, nectarine, a lil' stony vibe, and oil emerging. So good, always. Shoulda'coulda saved for crab season. — 11 years ago
Saved cork and dated. An important date once — 11 years ago
Pretty hot and slightly disjointed. Saved by RR fruit profile and long finish. Not amazing for the price. — 8 years ago
Perfect for a 5 year anniversary meal inspired by our travels abroad. So thankful we saved this and didn't drink it immediately. — 8 years ago
Luscious, fruity as hell! Love this wine. — 8 years ago
Saved this Magnum for a special evening. It lived up to all expectations...perfect balance, light, dry, with hints of honey. So glad we waited, so sorry it is gone. — 8 years ago
My friends saved this and drank it on their 20th wedding anniversary and it was just amazing. Smooth, full and phenomenal. — 9 years ago
Easily a 10. This was my last bottle I have saved for many years. The beautiful aroma was noted from the glass before even next to it.. — 9 years ago
Slightly dry and broken cork, but a quick decant saved the day. Deep purple color. Intense aromas of pine resin, wild herbs and the aromatic note 'balsamico'. Sturdy and dry, this can take more age. Paired well with a mix of home cooked tapas, but really shines next to meaty dishes and aged cheeses. — 9 years ago
Perfect #DrinkNapa Labor Day BBQ wine! Equally delighted by the northern Rhone-esque beauty of this mountain Syrah and the news that Lagier-Meredith's barrel recovery has saved much of last year's vintage! — 10 years ago
💜💜💜💜Northern Argentina. Extreme vineyard. Ridiculously allocated, and saved for a special occasion...Malbec and Cab make nice, offer up astringent but beautifully smooth tannins, black plum-cassis, pink peppercorn, gun flint, blue smoke, lilac and cocoa. Long finish. *A rare treat* (🐂🐂and yes, had this w/ steak) — 11 years ago
Enjoyed and so happy I saved it — 11 years ago
Tangerine queen. Strawberries, peaches, lilies, lavender, watermelon, tangerine. Great with the smoked pork tacos I had tonight. — 8 years ago
I had saved this to share with my winemaker friend, Leah Jorgensen, as I wondered how Cab Franc-esque this would show. Plums & pomegranates, hints of orange skin. Juicy once some air got to it; smooth stepping and delightful to see Nerello Cappuccio in the limelight. Cellar potential or enjoy with good friends for a lasting memory. — 8 years ago
Was super excited to crack this open! Wine was ruby red and dark at the core. Nose had us really worried, with a ton of prunes, glue, whiskey and slightly medicinal. The surprise and what saved this was the palate. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and moderate plus body. Palate was very complex with notes of dark cherries and something similar to creme de cassis but darker, and solid acidity. Long finish of dark cherries. Drink till 2018. Would love to try some of their younger wines! — 8 years ago
Thought this one was done for after likely improper storage, but looks like the wax cork saved it. Deliciously smooth with tons of earthiness and mossy tones. — 9 years ago
My PhD celebration wine saved for 5 years. Perfect. — 9 years ago

Isaac Pirolo
When it's well above 70° in December you have to get creative with the refreshing whites. Opens with enough petrol you'll have cause for concern that it's dangerous to drink. Lime and peach work their way in while the petrol eventually mellows to paraffin wax. Coats the palate with the sweetness and consistency of a melted Fla•vor•ice, and just as you're about to cringe from drowning in the cloying sugar you're saved by a last gasp of bright acidity. — 7 years ago
