Cellared for 2 years - notes of raisin begin to appear underneath a fruit forward wine. — 4 years ago
Sulfur free barbera. So fresh and alive. Really bright crunchy cranberry, raspberrry, pomegranate. — 7 years ago
Expressive nose of sweet and sour cherries, blue berries, incense, and dried flower. Round and bright palate with medium to high acidity and soft bittersweet tannins. From a tiny 2/3 of a hectare family holding of the Santo Stefano di Perno vineyard, aged for 18 months in used Slovakia oak barrel, this Barbera shows exceptional freshness and purity of the fruits at this young age, but also has depth and structure to age further. — 8 years ago
Smooth, silky. The grapes are hand culled for several months. One of the best dessert wines I have ever tasted. — 10 years ago
Great wine, different, grapes are aged longer with this wine, different but great — 10 years ago

CostoCo wine we had in Beatrice — 6 years ago
Delicious! Nose was full and fruity. Blueberry pie, cassis, dark fruits and some floral notes. Tastes delicious. Some tannins that softened over the course of the bottle. Would be nice decanted. — 8 years ago
Local distributor no longer carrying Red Cat by Hazlitt Vineyards, this was recommended as a suitable substitute. I have to agree with the recommendation. — 9 years ago
Wow what a great wine... — 9 years ago
Complete unadulterated decadence. Rich raisin fruit and toffee. This wine needs to be treated like a single lick of an ice cream cone. To fully appreciate, keep on the tip of the tongue. — 10 years ago
Classic barolo with nice mature earthy floral aromas. Used to be available @gramercytavern — 11 years ago
Intensely aromatic. Black tea, rose petals, red cherry and tar. Every component feels accentuated but in a very balanced way. Lots of fruit, good amount of acid, solid tannic grip and long finish. — 11 years ago
Barberry Garden
This is a teenager Cortese that decided to become a punk. But its parents accept the whims of the youth. So the rebelling spirit stays tamed. The bouquet is full of spoiled white plums, soaked white flowers, raw dough, kōcha kinoko, smoke, and pickles. To my taste, it lacks acidity (so not sure what destiny awaits this little rebel). Overall it is complex, multilayered, and even has some delicacy. And all these umami flavours (hello, mr Shiitake)! And the aftertaste of ripe, even baked fruits and pickles. A good find, for sure. — 4 years ago
