Unbelievably luscious mouth feel - fruit upfront but subtle in all ways - amazing finish -- having bison steak with blue cheese fondue and really wonderful with it — 8 years ago
Birthday party BYO wine #2. Nice way to avoid the host's warm Ménage a Trois (that's a wine swilled by the masses BiilB) on 90 degree afternoon. Full-bodied and full- flavored for a Rosé, it is sexy and fitting of its label. Went well with catered street tacos. — 9 years ago

Nose of candied lemon, beeswax, honey with floral notes. Clean crisp, very balanced, long finish. Delicious. — 11 years ago
Another standout from Sanguis - decanted for 6+ hours and just kept getting better... — 12 years ago
Wow. @Matthias Pippig killer stuff today. Started out with an unpleasant funk that blew off in about 30 seconds. After that it was all beautiful, luscious black and blue fruits with some savory complicating flavors. An awesome beauty!! Kudos. Wish I had more. — 8 years ago
Awesome and interesting. This is everything a rose should be. Makes everything on the table/patio better. Full bodied with a lot going on. Fruit punch! — 9 years ago
Chardonnay, Marsanne, Rousanne and Viognier — 9 years ago
The waxing poetic. Sanguis made an amazingly brooding, dark, and unctuous wine. This had to open up to layers and layers of wood and leather complexity with pure blackberry jam undertone. Perfectly integrated. — 10 years ago
Had this earlier in the year. Adding now. This was just an explosive wine waiting and praying to come out, if there any ANY left. Even needs a bit of time but truly singing right now with voluptuous fruit and a black/blue thing going on. You'll never have the same thing again. — 10 years ago
Brilliant first release from this Santa Barbara winemaker. Azios gets it right! Smoke, bacon and underbrush in the foreground, fruit behind and seeping through. Courageous example of terroir driven California Syrah. Even better on day two. — 10 years ago
Tasted in magnum this year. A super smokey, leathery blackberry depth to a supremely closed wine. Give this a couple more years for an 07 or decant for 24 hours.. No exaggeration. — 11 years ago
Super interesting co-fermented blend of 45% Petite Sirah, 45% Roussanne, 6% Grenache and 4% Syrah.
Deep and dark purplish red. Layered nose with tons of dark chocolate floating out of the glass. Layers of dark berries, black pepper, white pepper, purple floral notes, spices and herbs. Got a bit more savory and gamey as it opened up. Moderate tannins (6.6/10) and medium plus body. Kept getting fuller as it breathed. Big and juicy with dark cocoa, tight dark berries, bramble, dark spices, a touch of heat and anise in the finish. Long and lingering finish. Quite heavy and needs some time to fully integrate. Great wine. Drink from 2019 till 2026.

Stewed cherries and black currants, tarragon lurking beneath... — 9 years ago
70% chardonnay and 30% roussanne from bien nacido and watch hill vineyards, this is full of those hot metal and black pepper mineral notes I love in amazing white burgundy, but has a rich texture, full body, and some pineapple fruit that says unmistakably i-live-in-the-sun. Stunning and finessed and balanced, I've never found these flavors in Cali chard before. 2012 vintage. — 10 years ago
Nice single vineyard Chardonnay — 10 years ago
Let it breathe for 2hrs and it opened up very well - pairs nicely with the fight — 10 years ago
