August Sebastiani & brother-in-law, Kendrick Coakley, craft small-lot wines made with minimal intervention, so one can enjoy the truest representation of each appellation & how its terroir impacts specific varietals. Came across this rarity & grabbed a bottle. Aromas of ripe berry fruits & wafts of floral notes. On the palate raspberry & blueberry flavors, sweet cinnamon spice with an edge of tobacco tones. Smooth tannins, lingering ending with soft oaky notes. Great value! Nice! Small production. — 3 years ago

A blend of Carignan, Petite Syrah and Zinfandel (no Pinot Noir need apply), this extraordinarily well made basic wine from the 1969 vintage shows the greatness of this period of California winemaking. It is still youthful and richly spiced and well integrated. Excellent food wine. — 6 years ago
