Very deep purple color with ruby hues. On the nose: a bit of minerals, dark red fruit jam and pepper. Taste: medium tannins, a bit dry with hints of dried black cherries, plum and cracked black pepper. Good value. — 8 years ago
Nice full concert with the lighter instruments. Loved it because it takes you on a journey down the fields, across the river and through the woods. — 9 years ago
Wow! Honey... Served with 2nd course: butter poached lobster with saffron rice, tomato & lobster nage. Yum — 10 years ago
Sweet, full body. Saffron, wheat, apricot, jam, honeysuckle, caramel, mint. Light burn. Oaked. 2003, very nice — 10 years ago
Zippy alcohol and acidity with a light body. Smells like pure cherries but taste is all spice and tobacco. Took awhile to open up but very much enjoyed. — 10 years ago

A perfect PG with the requisite bright apple and nectarine flavors a a smooth honeyed finish. Exquisite when paired with Chinese food. — 11 years ago
Great, fruit-forward Zin
From Fields: A classic example of what Lodi does best! A gorgeous reserved style of Zinfandel, this wine offers bright and concentrated blackberry and black cherry aromas, with smoky, spicy notes and a velvet smooth texture. There is a bit of Carignane and Petite Sirah for added color, spice and finesse. — 11 years ago
smelled of saffron, coconut oil, mint... mouth added pear and honey, crystalized ginger... good but not the most exciting sauternes... — 8 years ago
Yummy yummy yummy! Could drink this as my daily red — 8 years ago

On the first day open, it was kinda disjointed and woody. Lots of bacon and smoke covering unmistakably concentrated fruit. On day 2 it got more savory and herbal. Now on day three the fruit is gorgeous -- ripe but not jammy. Minty-menthol herbal note with spice and great structure. This is why reviewers who base scores on one 90-second encounter can't be trusted. #lodiwine #snoothvt — 10 years ago

Sauternes from 2006, perfect color. Excellent nose: very citrus, exotic fruits, honey, and a hint of saffron too. Very rich in the mouth: buttery, "fat" but with very well balanced acidity. I loved it!! 89/100 — 11 years ago
Matt

A funky and crazy mineral/earth laden wine. Needed air. Bruised apple/pear, quince, wooly lanolin funk, smokey rocks, mushrooms, saffron, some sherry-like notes on the nose and palate. There's a lovey honeyed element to the wine that balances the tea leaf notes Chenin can have. Crunchy with terroir out the ass. A cerebral Chenin every time. — 8 years ago
