Dense and aromatic, with ripe blackberry and cassis but no sweetness or syrup. Loads upon a loads of white pepper. Fine tannins. This has aged remarkably well. I have this sense, perhaps mistaken, that Wells basically did a stylistic about face between 2006 and 2007 but perhaps that overstated the case. — 8 years ago

Out of magnum. Extremely balanced red fruit with acid and tannin to let this one age quite awhile. Can't want to taste this again in 10 years. Wells and Mike have done a helluva job on this one. Complex but very approachable. — 11 years ago
