Pale green straw. Fruit salad, lemon peel, gravel. Like a lighter viognier. M+ sour with some bitterness. — 8 years ago
Rui recommended the blue Carm Reserva - this one is quite nice for not being Reserva. — 9 years ago
Um vinho tinto do Douro muito agravel que deve ser bebido com uma cabidela de lampreia ou de pica no chão. Se preferiem com enchidos de Trás os Montes — 10 years ago

JL tasting Portugal Beira interior 2/20/18. 100% Siria. Sparkling. Golden slight amber color. Interesting nose that's slate stones minerals and acidic, white flowers. Palate that'd make one think Chablis with liveliness and sharpness, long finish that's acidic. Just a bit unbalanced on the acidic side but wear a goos food wine. Remind me of that Georgian sparking. Good value at $16. — 8 years ago
Crisp, earthy tannic but medium bodied — 9 years ago
WOW! Another surprising Douro red full of wood, full bodied, dark ruby color but so light on the palate with a great dry finish. Definitely one of my favorite wines. — 9 years ago

This burly blend showcases how Portugal perfectly bridges the sensibilities between Old and New World. The nose may read as a bold vintage of Reserva Rioja, but the palate has more in common with the riper, denser reds from California or Washington. Baked red and black fruit with licorice, vanilla, and very fine grained tannins. Ageworthy and a perfect bottle to pair with a NY strip. $40 — 7 years ago
