Smoky, cedar wood and liquorice, plums, blackberry. Heady or perfumed. Soft on the palate but rich tannins and medium acidity. Full bodied but ripe and juicy.

The sommelier described this selection as fruit forward, but I respectfully disagree. I experienced more minerals than anything else, which seems consistent with the fact that this delicate tasting wine is grown directly in the limestone bedrock, with very little soil. Hints of pepper rounded out the flavors. Excellent! Paired well with langoustines and lamb. — 8 years ago
