Very good #grunerveltliner from #austrianwine pale lemon color with pronounced aromas of white flowers like honeysuckle and jasmine. Citrus fruits like lemon peel and grapefruit. Herbal aromas like spicy rocket (arugula) and secondary aromas of cream. Medium body and pronounced intensity flavors. The finish is long and the wine is very good because of the complexity and intensity of the aromas and flavors, the length of the finish and the overall balance with a very smooth texture. — 7 years ago

One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.

Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!

Ahh, reminds me of Fridays back in Chicago @Roman Sukley always started with a white as we got organized. Often with one of these. Lemon, slightly tart, honey, and ends with a hint of earth. So I believe this Sunshine Vineyard is from the Wappo Hill portion of the Hartwell Estate......sorry now this portion belongs to the Realm Cellars estate. Medium to deep garnet red with bricking on the edges. Stinky and savory on the nose straight from the get go. Opened up over the next half hour or so with stoney notes, a touch smoky and soft red cherries. Well integrated and smooth, moderate tannins (6/10). Beautiful aged characteristics on the palate with notes of dusty black cherries, a touch of chalk and dust, mushrooms, truffles, and also gains some aged red cherries. Medium plus body with a super long finish. This bottle has aged very well. Drink now if you like power in your Cabernet but this will keep for few more years. Drink till 2020. — 7 years ago

My first shot at the Realm white and it delivered huge. Astounding aromatics of sassafras (yes! @Roman Sukley) and rain soaked vegetation. Melon rind, stream bed and a lively verve. I had not visited this wine in several year but took the opportunity to do so today. Boy was that a great call. While the nose was tame the flavors are of dark cooked fruits and the tannins, sweet. The alcohol serves as a prefect envelop to deliver the complex layers of this voluptuous sexy wine which can hold your attention for a 30 finish which might be beyond the attention span of @Bill Bender but well within @Roman Sukley wheelhouse.
