Perfectly balanced funk light and bright. Not overly tannic or sweet — 6 years ago
A deep, full, but eminently drinkable orange Malvasia, a prime example of how rich and complex these can be. Grilled peach, persimmon, blanched almond, and a long finish that leaves you salivating for another sip. Bright acidity, but not too much, nor is it particularly funky. Love love love. — 6 years ago
Rich, dark color. Medium bodied, light tannins but acid forward with a nice bite. Blackberry and raspberry, bell pepper, a little piney, black olives. Really interesting. From Shawn's. — 7 years ago
A sentimental flavor for me as this is how the wines of my childhood tasted. — 8 years ago
Botte 47. Phenomenally complex and constantly evolving. Initially savory with some animal fur, toasty honey (aged semillon) notes, slight star fruit. Then it evolved into dried flowers, mushroom, and dark fruit - reminded me of a young Barolo. Then black tea, green tea. Then strong dried spearmint, honeyed toasty complexity like the '81 Lopez de Heredia. Medium bodied with slightly elevated sparkling acidity. Not intense, but persistent on the palate. To borrow a phrase from Veronelli- It burrowed into my memory. I hope it made me forever better. — 8 years ago
Doesn't taste like Cabernet or merlot! Soft! — 8 years ago
Why are people so hard on this poor wine? I thought this was beautifully balanced, would highly recommend, and such good value. Come on, people! — 9 years ago
