it has high alcohol, but i feel cool nuance, because it has sharp acidiy and lifted aromas. Well balanced and enjoyable classic Syrah beauty. — 4 years ago
Kesey, tangy, fruity, good acid. Amazing price ($13!) — 6 years ago
It’s fun drinking Grand Crus, but it’s tough when they’re opened alongside “lesser” red burgundies that are drinking better (at this moment in time). Like many Grand Crus, this comes off as one dimensional but clearly singing its own beautiful song. — 7 years ago

Picked up at the winery in Gigondas back in May, this is excellent. Great aromas of blue and black fruits, some lavendar, and a hint of earth, this has a beautiful mouthfeel with a subtle acidity and sweet tannins that keep it alive on the palate. Great, lingering finish. This winery was far and away the biggest surprise we had on our trip to CdP (in a good way!). Just reconfirms that Gigondas has some of the best QPR wines around (especially if you’re like me and love grenache!). — 6 years ago

Probably held on to this a year too long but it showed well for the first night (mouse had set in by the following day). Citrus, white flowers, orange blossom. — 5 years ago
Rustic and zesty. It’s got crunchy wild cherry fruit and loads of wet Novarese gravel, with a little barnyard funk. Lively and crisp in the mouth, with a bit of chalky tannin to give it a little physicality. It was fantastic to wash down pasta bolognese.
UPDATE: On night two, this wine has put on a bit of weight. Upping rating from 8.9 to 9.0. — 6 years ago
well balanced, but not knocking me out like the 2014. may need to open up a bit. $33 — 7 years ago
