Very dark purple, no sediment, nearly opaque, medium viscosity. Nose sees wet hay, vanilla, some sweet cherries. Palette sees dark red fruits, a healthy does of tannins, medium+ alcohol, medium+ finish. Really surprised by how great this wine is- more powerful than jammy, could cellar for many more years and easily pair with fattier meats than what you'd expect from a PNW Syrah. — 7 years ago

my favorite vintage [2012] of this southern Oregon Bordeaux-style blend, after the '09. drinking very nicely now with medium-plus in power, good dark fruit, and balanced oak. Pretty light gold color, medium viscosity. Lots of fresh, new, toasty oak on the nose, citrus, green grapes, some green grass/hay. Palette sees more oak, citrus, apricots, white flowers, medium+ acid, healthy alcohol, but not high octane like many French Viognier. I enjoyed this- I preferred this colder, medium complexity Viognier compared to many of the burning French versions. — 7 years ago
